Pirate's Treasure goes that one extra step with dual-stick shooters by adding challenge based gameplay, but once you're pimped out things can get repetitive.
At $1.99, I can confidently give Pirate's Treasure a recommend. The technical issues are manageable, and the controls can be frustrating, but they get the job done.
Pirate's Treasure is definitely one of the best twin-stick shooter available on App Store, but it suffers from the same negative aspects of other similar titles, and so it's repetitive and pretty flat all around.
The campaign mode certainly sets this game apart from most other dual-stick shooters, which tend to be just endless survival games.
Pirate's Treasure is a doubloon in the giant chest of twin-stick shooters: it's worth its weight, even if it's only one of many.
Even in short bursts, Pirate's Treasure gets boring quickly, and that's just not a good thing. Unfortunately, this is one treasure that should have just stayed buried.
In summary, if you want a dual-stick shooter, you can do a lot better than Pirate's Treasure.
