  • Summary: It's been 20 years since the Earth Government and the Corporations battled for supremacy. The majority of humanity lives beneath the surface of the planet, relatively safe from the continuing struggle. A new and mysterious entity has entered the picutre, however, snapping up all the available Ravens for intense missions that only their custom-built Armored Core Units can handle. As a Raven, you know there's always another mission waiting for you - does it really matter who, or what, hires you? For all the new parts and weapons out there for you to earn in battle - we didn't think so. But just the same, keep your back covered, Raven. [Agetec] Expand

  1. A very entertaining mech combat title with lots of options and missions to keep you going for many a night.

The game hasn't changed drastically since its leap to the PS2, but two years of minor tweaking has made this the most accessible title of the franchise.
  3. Outside of a few peripheral additions, AC3 plays exactly like its predecessors. [Sept 2002, p.80]

I just wish the series would commit to more than gradual improvement. At this pace, it looks like I'll be able to give an unqualified thumbs-up round about "Armored Core 5" -- say, four or five years from now.
  5. One of the best PS2 mech titles in the market today, one that stand head-and-shoulders above better-publicized competitors like TDK Mediactive’s “Robotech: Battlecry” and Bandai’s “Gundam: Federation Vs. Zeon."

This isn’t a reinvention of Agetec’s half-arcade/half-hardcore mech battlin’ series, it’s just another step…and a rather small one at that.
  7. 60
It keeps most of the basic gameplay elements intact, but a little bit of polish (along with a few additional features) could have made this a spectacular title, rather than a merely solid one.

This game is cool! It combines stratergy with brute strength to boost it to it's deserved level of superiority.

This is really good. Although some options are useless, like consorts, I used them twice. I really like the option of keeping multiple AC's in your garage. It really opened up creativity for the creation of my AC's. Expand

AC only gets better and better. there are always gonna be a few little quirks, but overall, the gameplay, sound, graphics, and customization features rule over all else. Expand

Its really just the same thing like all the others. The difference is the parts, graphics and missions. If I had to pick a AC series I would buy this one. Expand

What are they scared of with this game, actually breaking from the mold and making a game that meets the standards for graphics these days? I found it to look just like the old ACs; however the storyline and the parts were new and refreshing. I just wish they would revamp the graphics and give us something new. Expand
