Yet another indie game that totally blows away what the faceless corporations put out.
This is the best tank simulation you can buy, and maybe the best one ever. [Dec 2000, p.170]
It combines both simulation and wargaming elements to produce a superb gaming experience.
A no-frills tank sim that has a very solid base but not a great deal in terms of extras or window-dressing. Tank sim fans will find this a pleasing and detailed addition to their collection but anyone who is looking for the latest graphics, frantic shooting or options by the bucketload will not find them here.
My biggest complaint with SB is that there is no sort of story line to go with the game.
The best simulation of modern tank (and maybe just tank, period) operations ever.
Though Steel Beasts sets new standards as a multiplayer tank sim, it is specifically focused on that area to the exclusion of all others.
