  • Summary: Featuring an enhanced version of the original's physics engine with even faster driving track designs, FlatOut 2 also boasts numerous improvements, enhancements and additions to make the title the definitive FlatOut experience. Twice as many vehicles, a more sophisticated career mode, additional race environments, double the number of tracks, twice as many mini-games along with brand new and much requested online multiplayer modes are just some of the exhaustive features that are included in FlatOut 2. With more than 5,000 fully destructible objects on every track as well as 40 deformable parts on each vehicle, physical interaction in a racing game is taken to unprecedented heights. With a greater emphasis placed on causing destruction on the track by offering greater rewards, game play will be even more frantic than ever. Drivers will need to tear into competitors' cars, trash the local scenery, litter the track with obstacles, while at the same time trying to concentrate on their own race in a bid to cross the line first. The ever-popular Ragdoll mini-games from the original FlatOut game make a welcome return and are better than ever with 12 Ragdoll events, a Ragdoll Championship and full online support. New Ragdoll events include basketball, baseball and royal flush cards. [Empire Interactive] Expand

  1. It may remind you of Burnout, but this is no wannabe or knock-off. It’s a solid racer with lots of destruction, good physics, and awesome online play.
  2. FlatOut 2 is a blast to play. Apart from some of the AI troubles, there is really nothing wrong with this game. It is a great title that has variety, character, and great graphics and gameplay to go along with it.
  3. The game’s multiplayer and online modes would make it the perfect game for a group of friends to gather and bash each other for a while. If you can overcome the difficulty level of the single player campaign, and think that the demolition derby and quirky stunt modes would be your cup of tea, do not hesitate to pick this title up.
  4. FlatOut 2 seems a little too slick for its own good in spots, but it still manages to provide plenty of destructive racing fun.

just simply amazing. the physics are just incredible. flat out was great but this one is even better...critics are giving these series such low scores, i have no idea why...they dont even tell you what they dont like...oh its great, oh its so fun...yet their socre is below a 7 out of a 10...this carnage must stop!!!! flat out 2 is so much more advanced than the highest ranked racing games out there, to the point of ridiculousness...simply put: play this game or miss the ride of your life. My favourite racing game in 2006. BugBear rulez! Played money hours this game and also at LAN parties. Thumbs up. The Stunts and crashes are great! There should be more stunts, that is my only comment Expand

Everyone has their own reasons for liking different games but this one is my favorite (though I haven't played Flatout 2 yet). I grew up on a farm driving these kinds of cars around the fields and this game takes me back there. I also love the physics in this game. I can feel each tire and the response of the suspension when a tire catches a ditch or other object. I like how there are consequences after crashes, leading to tangible changes in the suspension performance. The races are pretty crazy and fun to play multiplayer. The ragdoll mini-games are hilarious but it would be good to have the option of turning ragdoll off during races. It gets tedious. The two faults of this game are: not being able to drive multiplayer in the demolition derby and only being able to drive one car at a time. (When you switch cars, you lose the value of all the upgrades to your existing car.) I can understand, given a number of faults, why the game is rated lower but, in my opinion, it's still more fun than Burnout. That's why I gave it a 9. Expand

I can't believe that a driving game doesn't utilize a steering wheel. First flatout used the logitech pro 900 degree wheel, and this one doesn't even use a wheel - what's up with that? Expand
