Overall, I really liked my time with Alien Breed Impact. I did not play the original game back in the day, so I honestly do not have anything to compare it to, but I really had some fun with this fast paced action shooter.
  2. The game is good; fans of tense, methodical dual stick shooters will probably really enjoy it. It's just a shame that the wider-reaching problems weren't addressed.

The action in Alien Breed: Impact is pretty fun, but after a hour of playtime you will see that the game is way too repetitive and that's a shame. The concept is cool, but could have been a lot better.

Alien Breed: Impact is a love letter to all the things that inspired the designers, but apparently they forgot to flirt with fun. Unless you still boot up your Amiga to play the original, don't waste time when there are better games in the genre.

  1. with the release of alien breed three on psn, and end of its trilogy i thought i would give the first one a go round see if anything was there. it is a dual stick game...you move with left aim with right...its creepy, and dark, aliens drop and come out the ground. i'm skittish already and aliens are faster than zombies, it starts slow on do this, go here missions. you are on a crashed ship put out fires via computer terminal shutdowns so you go there, shut it down shoot aliens, buy weapons or bullets, decent story, a little lackluster graphically but overall enjoyable ....8 Expand
  2. As a whole the Alien Breed trilogy does a good job at providing intense moments of action and suspense with its eerie environment and surprise alien ambushes, but beyond that it is pretty much an average top-down shooter. If the developers would have added more boss battles and a little more variety in their game mechanics they could have had a solid hit. Expand
