Great in short bursts, maybe an hour, as you can have fun and make a little progress, complete a challenge, and see your experience progress. Maybe two at a push to run some Shadow Tower, or work on the Club World. But those meaty, satisfying online experiences need a heavyweight MMO to deliver them and, for all its colourful charm, Trove just isn’t it.
There’s a lot to be seen in this game, as well as a lot of rewards to loot from dungeons and bosses, and I’m still continuing the adventure in hopes of bigger and better things. As it stands now, I think Trove is a solid game for kids, as well as up and coming MMO players. It’s a game that is a wonderful upgrade from the Minecraft world, but pushes players a bit further with gaming concepts and design that most of us have experienced for a good portion of our gaming lives. I’m sure that it will keep growing as a game and hopefully, audience willing, garnish new add-ons and design that push it into a more rewarding experience that will legitimize it as a go-to MMORPG for a wider audience.
Beautiful. Honestly, this game is what helped me through my depression and i cant thank the developers enough for bringing such a masterpiece into existence. :3
An exciting Minecraftish/d&d type game that has the best of both worlds. The best part is creating your character and graduating in your class. I see a lot of potential in this game.
If you’re looking for depth, Trove will leave you frustrated. The combat is simple, the progression is slow and the quests are all the same. However, if you want a certain kind of fun, you can absolutely find it here. Players looking to wile away the hours fishing, crafting, building and murdering will never want for things to do. The PVP is just as accessible as the rest of the content if you have the patience, and you never have to spend a dime if you want everything the game has to offer.
Played in long sessions, Trove can quickly grow mind-numbingly dull and repetitive, and its performance issues can sometimes be a pain. But played in short sessions, it's a decently fun way to pass the time, either by building structures, battling bad guys, or experimenting with new classes.
The core problem Trove suffers from is that Minecraft doesn’t work as an MMO. Minecraft is an open world survival game that inspires its players to create huge structures and towns. It was never the gameplay that got people hooked, it was the stories about what they created. Trove limits this ability severely, leaving players with a shallow and characterless MMO that quickly becomes boring after just a few hours. Even if players were to invest money into the game, Trove still has nothing of substance to offer except cosmetics and progress fasteners. Stay away from this greedy cash cow, MMO players deserve better.
I've played this game for 1/2 years. it's very fun and imp pretty good at it. nothing really to say other than its pretty fun but something that's holding it back is that lag, Its pretty laggy.
I have mixed feelings about the game. The game developer has great customer support and answers most emails. But as a newcomer the game is completely confusing. I am not sure what the purpose of gems, flux or items left behind after battle are. As others have mentioned there is not much of a tutorial and tutorials on youtube leave me more confused. In short bursts the game is fun though and it has potential if the devs improve the game tutorial and gameplay a bit more. I also like the multiplayer function but again am not sure how to use multiplayer features.
Trove is an MMO with a lot of potential, the problem with it is that the game, does not help the player in any way. It doesn´t explain anything about: dragons, gems, class gems, classes, stellar equipment or nothing like that. another huge problem are the dragons, these are essentially the main way of advancing in the game, the thing about them is that you need what are called dragon coins which you can only get a limited amount per hour which makes it getting them much more tedious. In a nutshell the devs need to think about other approaches with a lot of aspects of the game. As I said this game reeks of wasted potential. Also in console the game is filled with visual bugs and performance issues.
The game is pretty nice but it doesn't explain anything to new players. The graphics are ~ok-tier but gameplay is not really intresting. I'ts 99% of grinding for new weapons. The game himself is a good idea but the creators didn't know what to do whit.
This game has NO tutorial as I'm a newbie to this game. I downloaded it cause it looked fun and it was free. When I got in, I was in a lobby and that was it. I didn't know what the hell I was supposed to do. I had to youtube search it all. Terrible.
