  • Summary: Had the battle sequences not been so maddeningly frustrating and frequent, Evil Dead: Hail to the King would at least weigh in as a decent Resident Evil clone, but they work to make the game almost unplayable.

    For the true believer, it's all worthwhile when Ash cranks up his trusty chainsaw and lets loose with a hearty, "Yo, tree bitch. Let's go."

    It's a mystery (and a shame) why with solid survival horror games like "Nightmare Creatures" or the "Resident Evil" series out there as examples, a "can't-miss" movie license like Evil Dead couldn't have faired better.

    Nothing can be better than ripping your chainsaw to life, impaling a Deadite on the end, and sawing a snappy one-liner before you hack him to pieces! Viva la Evil Dead!… Expand

    I'm a huge Evil Dead fan, but it's not enough to allow me see past this game's flaw. Truly is as unplayable as the reviewers say. Aim for "Regeneration" or "Fistful of Boomstick" for a more enjoyable experience.… Expand

    There is nothing like being able to use a chainsaw as a hand and a Bommstick as another! So let's just say i'm a BIG fan of "Regeneration" &"Fistful of Boomstick" but not so much for hail to the king. They could have made this game a better one and saved it for last! I think Bruce is King!… Expand
