Graphically, this could well be the PlayStation's finest hour. The lighting effects are nothing short of incredible, with each environment sporting realistic and amazingly effective touches on each surface.
  2. An amazing mix of fighting, puzzle-solving, and platform style action and adventure. The only PlayStation titles that come even remotely close to being this immersive and enjoyable in my experience is the "Resident Evil" family, but even they lack the sheer depth and playability of Raziel's quest.
  3. Without quiet moments of reflection, down-time to relax, or any meaningful relationships that go beyond the passive cut-scenes within the actual game, it all starts to feel as unrelenting as the final quarter of a bone-crunching Steven Segal movie.
  4. The horrible ending to this game has ruined what looked to be a good contender for the best Playstation game of the year. All the potential is there, but Eidos and Crystal Dynamics simply released an unfinished product.

  1. Amazing game, Hands down the only series I will happily say I am now a fanboy of. The story is deep and will keep you playing though the (lets face it) tedious combat (but then again you are armed with the SOUL REAVER!), The platforming is just purely amazing and the ability to switch between realms just adds to the story and the gameplay. Puzzles are challenging but rewarding. overall one of the best games of the year....... But could of shined even more. I want to see a HD remake. Collapse

As far as PSX action adventures go, this is second only to the mighty Metal Gear Solid and its just as awe-inspiring in its own way. A bit of a forgotten classic I think so if you see it going cheap you know what to do. Expand
  3. As with many PSone titles it struggles to hold up today but even at the time I found this a difficult game to get into. It had it moments but I seemed to spend most of the time unable to work out where to go. Expand
  4. Tried to get into this game, sadly the irritating camera angles make it painfully hard to see where you have to be reaching and you're constantly attempting to see what's above you, panning left and right is simply not enough. I actually thought the game-play was fine but I cannot stand terrible camera angles where you have to stand in a certain small spot to see where you're supposed to go. The narration and storyline seem to be the strongest points but I felt the flaws made the game not worthwhile. Expand
