I never would've expected Quantum Legacy HD to have strategic elements hidden underneath the arcade on-rails shooting, but it does and it's all the better for it. Scouring the galaxy for badguys ends up being quite a bit of fun. The kind of fun that just about any iOS gamer can enjoy.
Quantum Legacy is a nice space shooter, with some very good graphics and excellent controls. What a pity there are only a few missions, at least for now.
Fans of the original free release will appreciate the vast amount of upgrades of this great looking game, but the gameplay is just too simplistic to hold most gamers' attention.
When all is said and done Quantum Legacy HD was a clever idea that in the end worked less well. Combining on rails shooter mechanics with one to one dogfighting never really gets exciting.
