Protagonist Henry Townsend moves out into a new town and apartment but starts to notice strange **** telephone, it's ringing but the cord seems to be **** starts having nightmares of people dying and they show up dead in real life. What is happening? One day he is awoken from another nightmare and find his front door locked shut with about 15 locks on it and there's a message written in blood on the door, "do not **** story involves a cult, a serial killer, nightmarish worlds and sacrifices to evil beings. What surprised me a lot about the game is how Henry's apartment is used as a safe **** player can heal, save and take a break inside **** is quiet. It is **** game even forces you into a first person perspective while being inside the apartment to emphasize the sense of security, there are no dangers to look out for inside **** are there? The game later into the story betrays the player's trust and takes it away from **** apartment is haunted. There is another person, a woman that lives next door that communicates with Henry as he is stuck in his apartment. She is to be a victim that will be sacrificed to the cult I mentioned earlier and Henry will try to save her. Will he succeed? That is up to the player. There are evil forces pulling the strings, maybe even from inside Henry's own apartment.
I believe that,Silent Hill 4 or The Room is the best horror game in the all of time. This game created a new style of fear in the game industry.Deconstructive **** i Love it so much
The contrast between your deranged nightmare apartment and the seemingly normal world outside gives it an especially tense feeling of psychological terror and uncertainty.
The worst in the series, but is by no means a bad game...The most disappointing thing about the game, though is that it only borders on being scary, and this has always been one of the biggest elements in the Silent Hill series.
It's starting to look really long in the fang and could use an extended rest at some abandoned sanitarium. Otherwise, the only thing that's going to be scary about these games is the frightening pace Konami churns them out and just how far they've fallen from the original.
Fans of the series will have plenty to be happy about, but you can’t help feeling you’ve been here and done that in the previous games. That’s the real horror here.
This game took a bit of a beating at release due to having a new dev team and the last 2 games being masterpeices that are still unsurpased decades later.. I remember at the time being very worried about the negative reception as while SH4 was not as good as its predesesors, it was still amazing and it still had a tallented Japanese team behind **** it had Eillen, she may have had an anouying misson, but the way she is slowly and a bit creepily intruduced to you and the main character and the way she intertwines with the story an the player emotions is a technique almost completely removed from modern games. Thanks to the industry trying it hardest to push away the OG gaming fans, for a new woke , diverse, audience.. After SH4s reception Konami gave the franchise to American studios, who absolutely butchered the frachise, creating not only bad SH games but some of the worst games in general.. SH 4 has stood the test of time and is much more appreciated today..
The game itself definently has a new feel for the franchise, there the fps perspective and a hub world. But that core japanese horror feel is in tact and its very good in terms of exploration combat ,etc. To this day its one of my favorite horror games.
Мне игра очень нравилась, до того момента, когда локации нужно проходить 2 раз. В этом моменте игра проседает: мало событий, унылость и душность. Но эти 8 часов из 12 были просто прекрасны.
This game is not like other silent hill games. I am a real fan of this series but this game is not good. I always finish the games but i can't finish this one. The gameplay is extremely bad. I bored too many times and take many breaks. You need to do same things over and over again. You are going to apartment, hospital, child house etc. After half of the game you are going every place you been before. Part 1 and 2 of the game is the same. In this game, we don't have too many enemy type. They are repeating again. You fight a ghost and after few episode later you need to fight a ghost with a flame. This ghost can't be dead. You can't kill them. You can just slow down the ghosts. This is very annoying because they are too many and they kill your curiosity.
NOT SILENT HILL. This is the start of the death of the Silent Hill series. Linear story, backwards controls, and is not scary. Long frequest cut scenes get old quick. Do yourself a favor if you MUST play this one and just YouTube the cutscene movie. It's no wonder this is the last game by the original creators. Resident Evil 7, this is not.

Only by exploring mysterious portals leading to disturbing alternate worlds will Henry begin to uncover clues as to why he is trapped. However, in true Silent Hi...
