Was insomniac's first Spyro game perfect? However most of its faults can be found when comparing Spyro the Dragon to platform game today. The levels are simple but fun to explore but they lack depth, once you've got gliding down there isn't much to do but explore the levels, collect the required items and move onto the next. The bosses are laughable even by PS1 standards none of them really fight back including the final boss.
What saves Spyro the Dragon is the variety of different level to explore and the amazing soundtrack by Stewart Copeland.
