The most important thing with a VR game like this (and really, any game in general) is how fun it ends up being, and Synapse is a freaking blast. I enjoyed everything about this game, and it is another must-have title on the PS VR2, and yet another fantastic game that makes me glad I was an early adopter of the headset. If you have a PS VR2, get Synapse on the Playstation Store for $35 and thank me later.
Combining smooth gunplay and god-like telekinetic abilities, Synapse is a stylish roguelite shooter that more than deserves to be labelled as a PSVR 2 must-buy.

They should make a Star wars or Stranger Things game using what they learned from this, I'd pay big bucks for that! Game could do with more content, I just want to play more, but there's more than enough for 35 bucks. Love it!

This is one of the best VR shooters I have played, and I have been playing VR games since DK1 from Oculus VR. The combination of telekinesis and **** feels like being a Jedi. A lot of fun to play. Worth every dollar!!!

With its vibrant pops of color and excellent use of eye tracking in managing telekinesis, Synapse stands out as one of the productions that make the most of the potential and unique features of PlayStation VR 2. Despite the general lack of variety, the nDreams game remains a roguelite shooter with explosive gameplay and an excellently calibrated progression system, able to keep the user's interest alive thanks to a good level of challenge and the possibility of experimenting with different fighting styles. The presence of famous voice actors such as David Hayter and Jennifer Hale adds a special touch, not so much for the quality of the plot, but for the care and attention with which the entire experience has been packaged, comparable to what one might to expect from a first party title.
Owing to its highly polished mechanics and stunning implementation of unique PSVR2 features, you’ll be eager to scratch the itch and get through “one more run” time and time again.
Synapse is a frantic first-person shooter based on roguelite loops, with a use of telekinesis that takes advantage of PS VR 2's benefits very well, especially with the eye tracking technology. However, the content it offers feels somewhat lacking.
I wouldn't call Synapse a must-have for PlayStation VR2, but it's certainly a unique experience. Basic gameplay and character development are brilliantly executed, so if you decide to pick up this game, you'll be throwing enemies to the ground and bludgeoning them with virtual bullets with a smile on your face. It's just a shame that the small amount of content makes it feel a bit like a proof of concept rather than a full-fledged game.

Easily the most definitive VR FPS experience out right now! Gorgeous graphics, 120fps, the telekinetic powers feel great, the haptic feedback in the headset and controllers feels amazing and is really immersive, the story is great, the voice acting is phenomenal (especially from David Hayter), decent weapon variety, only downfall is there's one "boss" and no reap endgame boss after him, but this game gets a 10 regardless because for the one downside it has every single upside is truly THAT amazing that it makes you forget about that tiny little downer. Best part is it's only available on the greatest gaming console ever **** PlayStation 5!!!

One of the best VR experiences! It reminds me of the first time I played Superhot or Pistol Whip. It has the mechanics of the combat in Alyx but the action of Pistol Whip. There’s a pretty good ability tree that unlocks the more you play. I haven’t beaten it yet, but I hope they release periodic updates or perhaps some DLC content to keep the game alive long term.

I’m someone who purchased a PSVR2 on launch day, having never owned a vr headset before. After downloading and trying games for a few weeks, I was ultimately left with a feeling that vr games were about the immersive experience, not the gameplay.
Synapse is the first psvr2 game that was instantly fun and that I’ve wanted to continue playing.
Others have already pointed out the ways it could be improved. It’s a relatively short game and the upgrades and late game variety could be improved through a DLC or upgrade refresh. But overall, the most fun I’ve had in a VR game so far.

Some games will absolutely get you in the mood for more action and “Synapse” is one of them. My neck and legs were aching because I wanted to keep running and gunning, smashing enemies with the Force, and hurling bombs. All the good action is right here.
The graphics work well for a VR game. I find that a less detailed environment elicits less motion sickness. The enemies have a good amount of contrast. Objects have a nice glow to them. VR as a medium is about where 3D graphics were in the 1990s, and a game that caters to the compromises is a lot more fun than a game that fights **** actual game is fairly short, maybe an hour. But you will die and need to upgrade. I was so close on my 4th run but became a little too cocky and lost it at the end. The beauty of this game is that it didn’t matter. I had so much fun jumping in again that I never felt like I was spinning my wheels. This is a tight rinse and repeat experience.
Some of the technology works so well in the game that it should be bundled with the PSVR2. You can use eye tracking to select objects to manipulate with the Force. A little aim assist would be helpful for shooting because your gun position is only relative to your hand position, but I loved the ability to aim and shoot at enemies behind me by reaching my arm back.
Navigating space with the left stick while using the Force became a little cumbersome. I would love to have a way to use my legs and body rotation to ambulate, but like I said, we are a decade or two away from consumer VR like in the movies.
All-in-all, this game is a must play for VR.
