Due to the new characters and items, Tobe & Friends is an amazing update of the original Hookshot Escape, and one of the best vertical scrolling platformers in the App Store.
A tightly paced, furiously addictive endless climber that plunders those arcade classics for more than just rose-tinted window dressing.
Tobe & Friends' Hookshot Escape is a fine game and I say this with only a minimal amount of bias – a Dragon Punch-enabled character just makes things so much better.
Whether you've played a Tobe title before or not, Hookshot Escape is a great time-waster that knows that variety is the spice of life; a real challenge that constantly rewards the player for their progress.
It's an uphill climb, that's for sure, but one that keeps you coming back for more despite its pitfalls.
