  • Summary: Trauma Center: Second Opinion is NOT a quick-and-dirty port of the DS title "Trauma Center: Under the Knife." It has new graphics and animation; new surgical implements and operation types; a second playable character with new missions; multiple difficulty modes; and a revised control system that takes full advantage of the Wii Remote. It's a remake (or "Wii-make," if you prefer) with gobs of added content. As with Under the Knife, the voice acting in Second Opinion is presented in the operation scenes to enhance the drama and punctuate the action. [Atlus USA] Expand

  1. Much like "Under the Knife" for DS, Trauma Center: Second Opinion is a perfect demonstration of a game that simply cannot exist on any other console platform. It is both gorgeous and stylish.
  2. Good enhanced remake of the DS classic that manages to make full use of the wii-mote. The only downside is the lame audiovisual approach. [Sept 2007]
  3. It’s definitely worth playing, but while I generally enjoyed it, I never fell in love with it. And while the story is somewhat intriguing and the gameplay is certainly unusual, I always get annoyed with games that make things so hard on me.
  4. It's frustrating, often needlessly so, and frequently loses its enjoyable premise behind the guise of arbitrary design decisions.

Loved IT! Challenging. But not for those who don't enjoy story lines.
  2. this game is very exciting and one of the best games on the Wii this will not teach you how to be a surgeon this game is all about a test of reflexes and precision the longer you take on your surgeries the faster patients life bar diminishes the controls work perfectly with the Wii controller this game starts off slow but then it becomes more fast paced the storyline isn't that amazing but it is well done for what it is and the anime are style suits it quite well since its impossible for Atlus to ever make a bad game i wasn't expecting this to bad this is also a port from the DS (which ive never played) but from what i've heard they have added things in this one this game is definatly a great addition to your collection of Wii games p.s the soundtracks are greats Expand

The idea and use of the interface is brilliant, as are the first couple of levels, but along with any other innovation, can get repetitive. To solve this the gameplay then becomes more and more bizarre with little creatures swimming around inside patients, which take the fun out of the 'i'm-being-a-surgeon-on-my-wii' feeling as the reality of operations disappears. Could have been great. Expand

I honestly don't think this game is nearly as good as the score everyone has been giving it. The graphics are interesting and suitable, and I don't usually make that much of a high priority in my reviews. The gameplay is repetitive and boring. After the first chapter, I was astounded that this is how the entire game would play out to be like. The story is cheesy and shoddily put together, and unfortunately, the coolest segment that I have witnessed so far is the interface and the movie in the beginning. *sigh* Maybe it is simply the Wii's minigame madness that really has me down, but I'm not sure.
