Nailing distant opponents with your main cannon sometimes demand more luck than skill, and you'll occasionally get stuck behind objects that obstruct your view, but most of the time you'll just have a blast blowing things to hell and gone. [June 2011, p.55]
The camera is unfocused and frustrating; the gameplay too chaotic for its own good; and the lack of a strong storyline make it feel like everything's barely holding together with cheap adhesive.
The main problem is the fact that there's just not much to it. A complete lack of depth means after just an hour or two of play, you'll be done with it. [Issue#72, p.101]
Repetitive gameplay and such limited-appeal makes of Red Faction: Battlegrounds an easy pass, especially at 800 Microsoft Points.
An hour-long single-player mission and only a handful of multiplayer modes leaves this game severely lacking in replayability.
Red Faction: Battlegrounds is so bad that it actually will make you less hyped for the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon. That is, in every way, a big failure.
