I went into Sniper Elite V2 with one desire: Disfigure Nazis from hundreds of meters away. The game delivers on this core mechanic beautifully. While I would have preferred enemies with less superhuman vision and better stealth options, at the end of the game I couldn't recall a scenario I didn't enjoy. Sniper Elite V2 is a must for anyone interested in a smart shooter with an emphasis on gore.

After years of modern and futuristic warfare the WWII-scenario feels fresh again. Although nothing is really new, Rebellion manages to conjure up interesting tactical sniping action.

A fun and engaging game troubled by a lacking technical production, even if Rebellion made a good job trying to overcome it with a great environments design. And in view of its more tactical and stealth approach, we would have liked a less linear and driven levels structure too.

Obviously, Sniper Elite V2 keeps trying in the same way as the first episode : seven years later, it shows the same qualities and makes the same mistakes. The shooting system is still very fun, almost addictive, and the fans will be glad to discover the new Kill Cam. But it's not enough to hide poor graphics, lack of a true narrative side and some new features of arguable quality. Its low price could however convince some of you to try the experience.

  1. Yeah, the graphics are great, not awesome... But does that matter.... hell no.
Killcams- sweet and realistic. ALL organs are there. Balls shot
s are satisfying, especially on hitler...
Levels- There are multiple ways to complete levels, but no encouragements to go off the beaten path and explore. Kill tallyl- not bad in single player, awesome in multiplayer.
Ai- Turn the AI difficulty up if you find it easy. because at "Veteran" i find it slighly harder. Slightly stupid when they forget about you after a while hidden.
    Overall-
    Buy this... now.
Trade in your Call of Duties, and your Battlefields.
I'll be surprised if it doesn't get a VGA.
Sniper elite v2 is a must have.

  2. The game delivers on it's title...snipe the living S#$! outta people. Does the game have it's issues...well sure. The enemy AI could snipe you back from a mile away on the hardest difficulty but then again that's expected. Graphically the game could have used some work and the level design seemed like it could have been condensed some what. It's not about the amount of space but rather how the space is being used in the game play. As far as the narrative is concerned well it is pretty straight forward which I believe was designed that way. Game play is fun and feels good. There is weight to the character and how he moves which is something I like in games. I would have liked some more direction with the explosives. It would have been nice to be able to look at an area and plan out the enemies deaths strategically mixing explosives, stealth, and good ol head shots. As an avid gamer I am happy to state that this game is not a rehash of everything else out there and offers an enjoyable experience to those willing to try it. Expand
  3. This game realy does deliver on its core gameplay mechanic. The sniping is brutal, beautiful and rewarding. There is a lack of narative but it is not a problem in this game in my opinion. The problem is with the game's direction as it is in so many other titles. The enemies can be a real annoyance, as they have superhuman abilities. I found getting the drop on an enemy sniper is nigh impossible. The music is also inapropriate a lot of times. But if you can forgive some minor hindrances and like a WW2 sniping game, look no further! Certainly worth a 2nd hand or discounted buy. Expand
  4. Played this game on this console after I played the pc version and it's not even feeling as the same game.Graphics and physics are both of a different world so it seems...I'm sorry. Hail to the pc! Expand
