  • Summary: Inspired by recent "teen slasher" movies and TV shows, Obscure takes you to a deserted high school rife with tortured screams and faceless creatures. In single-player mode, you'll play as one of five students teamed with a computer-controlled character. In cooperative mode, your friend can play as your partner. As you explore the school, you must combine your weapons with artificial or natural light sources to drive away the monsters. Expand

  1. The gameplay's got certain unavoidable flaws, but with a player-controlled camera, some more evocative set design, and another few hours' worth of gameplay, Obscure could've been one of the greats.
  2. The subject matter has been done before, but Obscure manages to keep it fresh.
  3. It's engaging but too short. It's pretty but not beautiful enough for its genre. Its gameplay is innovative but it doesn't function as well as it should. There's a lot to like here, but just as much to dislike.
  4. For those who want a cheap horror fix for a weekend, Obscure is sure to fit the bill. Just don't expect anything outstanding and you might just enjoy yourself.
  5. Obscure is well worth playing all the way through, and if you can stomach the characters and their irritating forced American idiosyncrasies then this title could well be one of the best £20 price-tag games out there.
  6. Lives up to its name. It's competent enough as far as blatant rip-offs of the great-granddaddy of survival horror go, and the co-op mode certainly adds appeal, but so much has been cobbled together from remnants of other games that Obscure has no distinct identity of its own.

One of the dumbest and least scary survival horror games I have ever played. Obscure is truely destined for obscurity within bargain bins around the nation.

Best game series EVER. Instead of surviving the horrors of zombies and monsters as typical police or war veterans, you play as un experienced students who need to survive the horrors of Fallcreak. Great story, great graphics and great fun factor. Highly recommend it. We need a third game@! Expand

This game looks so sweet. The videos and images of this game look awesome. This game is going to have good graphics. Although this game looks a little like the Resident Evil games, this game is going to be alot different and alot more scarier then the Resident Evil games. Its story will be different and maybe alot better then the Resident Evil games. So if you love the Resident Evil games you will probably love this game. Can't wait for it to come out. Expand

what a top game!! it may not stack up to the likes of resident evil but its got it where it counts. fun, compelling gameplay, decent graphics and sound and some good plot twists, though the story had a bit to be desired. one major letdown was the fact that it was all over WAY too quickly. i finished it in 5 and a half hours on normal mode!!??? however there are some extra unlockables if you can manage to finish it on hard mode. despite the shortness of it i still reccommend you buy it. if you are new to the genre you should probably rent it. happy gaming! Good 'ol Studio turned bad with games like Alone in the Dark and Fairy-tale-fights. Back when this studio was good.

    Voice acting needs work
    though...
I won't call it scary, that's what the Wii spin-off succeeds in (Hey! The Wii is good after all!)

Mediocre german Resident Evil wannabe. Don't even bother when it comes out in U.S. or U.K.
