The Avengers latest stand feels well worth the wait. It’s not perfect, but it goes to a place most tentpole movies wouldn’t dream of, while retaining the scale, excitement, and humour you’ve come to demand from an MCU movie.
No, it’s not a game-changer like "Deadpool" or "Logan." It remains firmly anchored within the “traditional” comic book milieu. But, with an unwavering devotion to spectacle and action, the film throws down a gauntlet where this kind of mass team-up is concerned.
This movie is the MCU's magnum opus. It is everything I ever wanted in an Avenger's story and was so worth the wait. Thanos is awesome! No doubt this is the best Avengers movie. Everytime I watch it, I love it more. The Russo brothers showed what's possible with smart storytelling and faithfulness to the characters and universe they live in. Little did we know that this would be the high point of the MCU. It's incredibly sad to see what Phase IV has done to the franchise.
Why it rocks: The emotional moments have plenty of room to breathe. It’s paced very well with good acting, amazing visuals, the characters never fall apart, neither does the script and there’s some awesome action and cool dialogue. Overall, definitely an improvement over endgame.
It’s exhausting, but it’s also frequently effective. It’s surface-level with its emotional beats, but a number of them still land, largely thanks to the continuously all-in performances of the series’ endlessly patient stars. It’s an event that advertises itself as an event in every way, while somehow still managing to justify the immense hype around it.
Picking up where Joss Whedon, director of the first two “Avengers” films, left off, sibling filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo have so many pairings and sparrings to work through that the movie is essentially a mixed martial arts extravaganza with a severely overcrowded undercard.
The plot consists of bits: a fiery slugfest, a pause for bonding, a quick weep, and a patch of jokey repartee, before the slugging returns. Acts of sacrifice are dotted throughout, and we are urged to applaud the burgeoning fellowship of those who unite against Thanos, but, in truth, it’s every man for himself.
This right here is Peak MCU, dread it, run from it, it happens all the same. THANOS, the Avengers, everything about this film shows that the Russo Brothers don't joke around when it comes to films. This film demands that you watch the pre-existing MCU films from Iron-man to, well this film.
The Russo Brothers did this film, the characters, the scenes, and the action, to utter perfection. Everything is perfectly balanced like all things should be.
For that I give my first 10/10, this is what I expect from a perfect film, I have no problems, and I have nothing against this film that would make me drop a point.
Truly Outstanding. This is Film history right here, And I'm glad I was a part of the ride for this long.
Disney and Marvel will never get to a point like this ever again. I don't see it happening.
It's a complete mess. I hardly made it to the end of the movie due to the lack of any artistic aspect or working drama. Yes, they tried hard to make us feel something, but they failed.
