History of Evil has something to say about the sad state of our nation–-and where it’s headed should we continue to regurgitate the same racist bile—it just doesn’t justify the means before its end.
While there are a few jumpscares during the family's stay in the farmhouse, the film is more geared towards evoking a feeling of uneasiness than truly frightening us.
Ponderous and dull, “History of Evil” is the kind of script that plays with hot-button ideas instead of having a single thing to say about them.
Ultimately, History of Evil lacks the teeth and the scares to be a truly effective horror movie, acting more as a mildly infuriating thriller.
