A movie with an impenetrable plot that nevertheless has its moments.
Performances from the two principals are as developed as the frequently convoluted script allows them to be.
The picture teeters on the edge of parody without giving itself the relief of falling over.
The Next Man emerges more a slick travesty with political overtones than the cynical suspense meller it was designed to be.
A suspense melodrama made by people whose talent for filmmaking and knowledge of international affairs would both fit comfortably into the left nostril of a small bee.
