Zachary Levi, born on September 29, 1980 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is an American TV and film actor most known for his role as unwilling undercover government agent Chuck Bartowski on the NBC action-comedy Chuck. Zach, who grew up with one younger sister and one older sister, lived all over the country with his family before they finally settled in Ventura, California. At age six, he was already singing and dancing in church and acting in school and local theater productions.
After college, Levi moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his acting dream. Initially, he worked in stage plays including a portrayal of Jesus in an Ojai production of Godspell, his performance in which caught the attention of Hollywood agents. Soon after, Zachary made TV movie debut FX's Confessions of a Campus Bookie. He then played Kipp Steadman on ABC's sitcom Less Than Perfect between 2002 and 2006. After the show ended, he appeared in numerous films and TV movies including his first big-screen film, Reel Guerrillas, and his debut as a producer, Spiral.
In 2007, Zach landed the role of his career as NBC tagged him as the title character in their "24-meets-The Office" series, Chuck. On the show, he plays Charles Bartowksi (Chuck), a superstore employee who downloads classified government information into his head, inevitably forcing him to become a government secret agent.
