The series indulges in heightened emotions and inanity, but never fails to regard its characters' outsized feelings with affection and understanding. No other series on TV right now feels like it, and as even the prestige show start to mine the same atmosphere, that makes Bob's Burgers all the more vital.
I just can't get enough of this show. It reminds me of The Simpsons when they were less about the shock and focused more a good story with humor along the way.
Bob's Burgers keeps things going with more off-the-wall humor and heart. The thing about the Belchers that makes them so darn lovable is that they are just such a tight-knit family. Always there for each other and caring for one another even in their most antagonistic of moments. The humor and absurd situations they get themselves into also help.
Yes, the laughs just keep coming 5 seasons in. Midday Run might just be the show's best episode. It even succeeds at an almost completely with Linda as the focus. Ideas new and old are bounced around, with great guest stars and the always phenomenal writing.
It's a show still worth sinking your teeth into. It's always lovable characters, crazy setups, and near-constant sense of humor are still on point. Another excellent season for the excellent show.
