Never has the show’s YouTube roots been more apparent than in the latest season, which feels much more like a series of largely unrelated vignettes than a cohesive collection of episodes.
To the 0 reviewers: don't like comedy, go watch Bambi. Stop reviewing comedy! Seinfeld was a show about nothing and we all know what it achieved. Watched this one after watching Shoresy and wanted more of it, its brilliantly funny, surprising and with excellent acting for the point of the show.
Writing this to simply counter the idiocy that is johndoe2014's review. In no way, shape, or form is this literally the worst show anyone has ever seen. "Each episode has no point or plot" is so very easily disproven, his review needs to be removed all together for blatant inaccuracies.
This is a must see for anyone who likes a good comedy. Jared Keeso has created a fun little town with pretty straight forward cliques that all intertwine to create a truly Canadian and hilarious town. You get a lot of material for your buck (loon?) so be on your toes. The chirps come at you fast so you have to be ready. If you don't laugh at Letterkenny, you don't know humor or sitcoms and I feel sad for you. Pitter Patter!
Letterkenny has been an incredible show so far. However, all I can say after episode 1 and 2 of season 7 is...what the unholy **** that???
I am sincerely hoping that Jared Keeso hasn't succumbed to pressure and sold out. Letterkenny has been one of my favorite shows up until now. I hope it hasn't jumped the shark.
I created an account specifically to say that this show simply does not make sense.
I'm sure that to somebody this is funny but even if it is, it can't be that funny. Structurally the setup and payoff is weak in most episodes. The characters feel like robots, the jokes are really dumb, like grade school dumb for example one phrase such as "everyone's an expert" gets said over and over in the hope it will be funny at some point. I think the joke is that they are stupid...I think? but they never do anything clever or interesting with that stupidity, they just drunk and get angry at nothing and have the kind of conversations that kids in grade school have about animals or candy. Many of the core jokes of the series feel like the kind of thing that was bottom shelf humor in 2005 such as "They are **** but don't know it yet" or "Look how good at drinking and fighting I am" its the kind of thing that you use to have to put a laugh track behind because if you didn't people would realize it was **** yet here I sit in total silence watching as these guys squint at each other asking myself over and over "is this the part that's suppose to be comedy?"
Its like looking into the mind of madness from its perspective but unlike something like its always sunny or Seinfeld you are suppose to be sympathetic to them I guess? or maybe you are suppose to hate them? its anybody's guess because they are people fundamentally without perspective or purpose. They never have any character growth or even spiral, they just exist and do the same dumb things each episode and it gets old within the first few episodes and it becomes decrepit by the time you are caught up.
Each season is the same thing. Every. Single. One. and somehow, if anything, they get worse. I've never seen a show in my life that went downhill from the pilot, let alone for double digit seasons. At this point the show seems to be somewhere deep within the mantle below what could be roughly considered the bar for quality show writing. Its madness to think that this stimulates neurons responsible for a humor response in homo sapiens and I would make my third wish to a genie that I could get a refund for the time I spent or remove the memory of ingesting it from the brain space it took.
This is simply the worst show I have ever seen. It is not funny, but at least it is meanspirited. It is not clever, but at least each episode has no point or plot. It is violent and drunken, but at least the characters are cartoons that have no personality except that they like to fight and drink. This show should have stayed buried deep in the internet, but I guess the deplorables now have something to stream on Hulu.
