While the series does have a few pacing issues, and a lack of a strong supporting cast, it more than makes up for it with its slick art and strong leading trio.
For those wanting a strict Superman and Lois Lane story that tracks arguably the most known relationship in the DC universe, "My Adventures With Superman" is the show to watch.
As a huge DC fan this show is amazing. The anime art style for one is a nice change up and a successful experiment. The trio of main characters are very likable. I really like how they focused this season on less known villains instead of hitting us with Lex Luthor right off the bat. I appreciate how the writers gave each villain a unique and updated backstory and went in a new unexplored direction for most of them. The costumes for the villains were well designed and again the art direction for the villains worked for me. Overall, the storytelling for entire season was spectacular and I thoroughly enjoyed every episode. Superman generally is pretty boring to me (I'm more into Batman as most people are) but I can't recommend this show enough. Go binge watch this show you wont be disappointed!
My Adventures with Superman fuses DC Comics canon and shonen anime tropes to put a fresh and charming spin on the Man of Steel. While there are a few weaker characters, the show’s first seven episodes show huge potential driven by weird villains, complex fights and a tight ensemble.
Over 80 years since the creation of this iconic character, it is a testament to the strength and flexibility of Superman and his mythos that he is still able to be molded and shaped in new and exciting ways, and My Adventures with Superman does just that—and is a hell of a good time to boot.
A lot of dumb people don't seem to get that Clark Kent breaks things because he's Superman in disguise. How better to throw people off the scent of your real identity as Superman than by being a clumbsy oaf?
What have they done with Superman? And then that bad drawing style. It's all so annoying on anime and the characters just don't fit. Wasn't Lois and Jimmy even white? And why is Clark being portrayed so stupid? It's cheap humor for him to break everything.
Sailor Krypton...
None of these characters act like they have since the beginning of their creation to 2014.
Whatever they did to Livewire should be a crime against humanity.
And what they hell is up with the bib? Like who acts like that in public? Or in real life?
Do these creators know how to write stories?
Only thing redeeming is the art; the fact that the artist stayed inside the lines should be applauded.
