While the series does have a few pacing issues, and a lack of a strong supporting cast, it more than makes up for it with its slick art and strong leading trio.
For those wanting a strict Superman and Lois Lane story that tracks arguably the most known relationship in the DC universe, "My Adventures With Superman" is the show to watch.
This series is what "modernizing Superman" should be. You don't modernize Superman by making him brooding and morally dubious, but by exploring his humanity and insecurities. The show isn't perfect, the villains, dialogue and animations could all have been a lot better, but this is one of the best modern age Superman media, alongside Superman & Lois. Highly recommend
This series is amazing, although it may not tell a great story or explain it some way in each episode. It is by far a great adaptation of other animated SUPERMAN iterations. I have to say that Jack Quaid gives a great performance as Superman. Clark is trying to live a normal life while managing his 2nd life as Superman. The other voice-acting is made by the beloved cast and crew who brought this animated series to life.
My Adventures with Superman fuses DC Comics canon and shonen anime tropes to put a fresh and charming spin on the Man of Steel. While there are a few weaker characters, the show’s first seven episodes show huge potential driven by weird villains, complex fights and a tight ensemble.
Over 80 years since the creation of this iconic character, it is a testament to the strength and flexibility of Superman and his mythos that he is still able to be molded and shaped in new and exciting ways, and My Adventures with Superman does just that—and is a hell of a good time to boot.
I think I finally found my favorite version of Superman the way I found my favorite version of Lois Lane and also Jimmy Olson... Not every show can get into my heart.
This is actually the first superhero animated show ( Along with invincible ) I've ever liked
It's kinda mediocre.
The good is that the potrayal of the three main characters (Clark, Lois, and Jimmy) is well-done with capturing the essence of who these characters are albeit some characteristics are over-done. The art-style is decent giving a comforting, warm, simplistic vibe to the show.
The bad is kind of everything else. Inconsistent animation, bad villains, and a hollow plot.
Almost cute. Almost fun. Unfortunately, I found myself yawning a lot.
Oddly, this seems written for children but contains content for adults. They seem confused who their target audience is.
Most boring of all is the race swapping (Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Perry White...). Pretty much every character except Superman and his families. I was ready to let it slide because the voice cast is good, but, of course, males are incompetent, evil, stupid or cowardly. Yawn.
Sailor Krypton...
None of these characters act like they have since the beginning of their creation to 2014.
Whatever they did to Livewire should be a crime against humanity.
And what they hell is up with the bib? Like who acts like that in public? Or in real life?
Do these creators know how to write stories?
Only thing redeeming is the art; the fact that the artist stayed inside the lines should be applauded.
