Pacific Rim: The Black’s emphasis on its brother and sister leads provides a specific point of view that’s deeply, earnestly engaging. There’s a danger that its forays into Lost-esque mysteries will derail from this, but hopefully it won’t stray too far from its strength, which is, surprisingly enough, hopelessness.
Pacific Rim: The Black certainly has a few missteps here and there, with some wonky animation, but it’s a great, world-expanding look at concepts and monsters that audiences who loved the original film can easily fall in love with. Opting for anime storytelling is the cherry on top, as it offers a medium that feels just right for the franchise’s lore.

I was really surprised: The story and animation are well made. As a fan of the movies this should be on your watchlist.

Although animation is quite static it's still good looking. The plot is confusing but it has his charm and will make you want to know what's happening. Waiting for the second part.

Without the chest-rattling boom of every seismic Jaeger footstep, or deafening din of a Kaiju shriek, the series packs less of a wallop. That said, the upside to this endeavor is over-the-top action that even Del Toro’s CGI magicians couldn’t quite pull off—a trade-off that makes Johnson and Kyle’s series maybe not a grand success, but certainly a worthwhile addition to the franchise.
This series is great. Watched all of it in two sessions. Very good character building and a simple but great plot. The action is faithful to the original movie and I actually cared about the characters. If it was all kaiju on robot action, it would be boring. Bring on season 2

There's not nearly as much hot kaiju on robot action as I'd hoped for. It's kind of a basic, straight forward anime.
