It was all as gorgeous, breathtaking, moving and harrowing as we have come to expect from this world-leading branch of the BBC. There is nothing to criticise or cavil at here.
Seven Worlds, One Planet will blow you away with its visuals and its unprecedented access to certain species, even if the presentation itself can be dry at times.
I'm a seasoned griper over excessive background music, but this was on another level. ... Eardrum offences aside, this promises to be another truly great series.
Bears the hallmarks of a suitably dazzling BBC/Attenborough operation. There are sweeping aerial shots, eye-wateringly clear close-ups and gaudy underwater scenes of starfish, sea spiders and somnolent jellyfish. There is sex and comedy and cuteness aplenty but, most of all, there is heartbreak and death.
Some of the most dramatic images in the “Seven Worlds” scene are the very same shots that were in “Our Planet.” That’s an extreme example. But throughout “Seven Worlds” there are scenes that trip the déjà vu meter. ... That doesn’t stop me from enjoying the amazing things in them. “Seven Worlds” is full of the usual beauty and spectacle.
