The fast pace, multiple plot lines and life-or-death scenarios--coupled with solid anchoring from Turco, Cusick and Isaiah Washington--generally compensate for the show’s clunkier aspects and occasionally silly-sounding dialogue.
I have to say this is quite possibly the best season of television I have seen in a long time. Every episode was good and some (like the midseason finale and the actual finale) were simply mind-blowing. The show continues to test the characters and take them down new paths in their character journeys, which is always refreshing to see. It is not afraid of following disconcerting and tragic plot lines. This season is honestly amazing.
I really loved where season 2 went in comparison with season 1. Even though is a lot more darker, we get to see the characters grow so much (for better or for worse). The mid-season and season finale were definetly highlights of the show.
I wouldn't pay much attention to the negative reviews on here. If you want to watch a show that resembles The Hunger Games and The Divergent movies, then watch The 100. It won't disappoint. When the show first aired on television, I wasn't interested in it because of the name of the show. But then I gave it a shot when I came across it on Netflix when season 2 ended on tv. I watched seasons 1 and 2 in one day! I couldn't stop watching it. The brilliant directors of the 100 reeled me in, and I was hooked. The 100 is so smart and clever in maneuvering the most hardest decisions a character has to make into the most suspenseful moments i've ever seen in a tv show. Not to mention, the story is very well written and very action packed. If you like action, suspense, some comedy, and romance--WATCH THIS SHOW. I think it's way better than most of the other cw shows.
‘The 100’ caught my attention with its ‘Lord of the Flies’ flavor (with teens instead of kids), but it tries too hard. It is stressful and too intense, showing a gasping thrill every five minutes. First, we fear 100 kids may die as they journey from a space station to earth, then they get speared by cavemen called Grounders (who happen to speak English), then some of them kill off each other, then the most civilized people on the planet **** the kids’ bone marrow for medicinal reasons… ahhhhhhh! I need to take a tranquilizer after watching this show. My blood pressure is high enough, thank you very much. There’s never a down moment. There’s never a calm atmosphere. I can’t breathe. I can’t relax. It’s suspense on steroids. Enough!
The concept of this show was very interesting, but the characters are overbearing and poorly **** uneven plot and **** attempt at shock value makes me think that it was definitely trying to emulate shows like LOST and fell short by a mile. This is the kind of show that would have been good if it had been produced by another station, However, like a lot of the CW shows, there is way too much focus on catering to the whims of adolescent viewers who are obsessed with shipping their romantic couple of choice and who are only interested in watching shows with attractive characters in their 20s (there are older characters, but they get a lazy edit and are clearly not the focus of the show), I dropped the show halfway through the 1st season and then picked it up again in the 2nd season because a lot of its fans claimed that it had improved substantially ( I'm a huge fan of that type of Syfy genre and so I really wanted to like it), but I felt that it suffered from the same implausible storylines and poor character development as in the first season. also, despite the show's attempt to be a unique science fiction show about repopulating a damaged Earth, most viewers seem to be primarily obsessed with whether or not two of the lead actors will hook up, which says a lot about the show.
