The title character is a welcome departure, but the plotting is patented CW fare.
Outside its flawed hero, though, “Tom Swift” suffers from a surprising lack of imagination given all the ostensibly impressive innovation at the heart of the Swift empire.
Tom Swift gets too stuck in its leaden dialogue and attempts at being edgy to tell a conspiracy story that makes any sense.
