Adapted from the M.O. Walsh novel by David West Read (a producer on Schitt's Creek), The Big Door Prize is set in a small Southern town where a mysterious, photobooth-sized machine appears in a grocery store. For just a few dollars, the machine promises to reveal each customer's true destiny—a promise which prompts the local townspeople to make drastic changes to their lives (or at least their professions). Chris O'Dowd heads a cast that also includes Gabrielle Dennis, Damon Gupton, and Josh Segarra. Three episodes stream today followed by single episode installments over the following seven Wednesdays.

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston return for a sequel to Netflix's (not very good) 2019 comedic mystery.

First ordered to series in 2019, Amazon's 10-part adaptation of Naomi Alderman's award-winning book is set in an alternate world where all teenage girls—and only girls—suddenly gain the power to electrocute people at will which, naturally, has a major impact on the balance of power in every society on the planet. The series adaptation, set in global locations ranging from London to Nigeria to Seattle, also comes from Alderman (along with an all-female writing staff that includes Rocks screenwriter Claire Wilson), while the all-female directing staff is led by The Handmaid's Tale's Reed Morano (who also produces alongside showrunner Raelle Tucker). Because of the numerous production delays (mainly due to the pandemic), the cast has undergone several changes in the past few years but is now led by Toni Collette, Auli'i Cravalho, Josh Charles, Eddie Marsan, and John Leguizamo, while recurring guests include Rob Delaney and Alice Eve. New episodes stream weekly.

A colorful rom-com with a rare specificity of place (in this case, South London) and a heavy dose of comedy, the feature debut from British director Raine Allen-Miller greatly impressed reviewers at the film's Sundance debut in January. Many of those critics likened the film to Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise (with a bit of Wes Anderson's visual flair thrown in) for its day-long story following Dom and Yas (David Jonsson of HBO's Industry, Vivian Oparah from Class), each coming off of messy breakups, as they impulsively head out on the town for a first date.

French filmmaker Quentin Dupieux's latest and oddest oddity—which finds a group of five superheroes known as the Tobacco Force battling a giant turtle and saving the planet from the Emperor of Evil while also attempting to improve group cohesion on a bonding retreat—also opens in theaters today.

Don't worry: It's not an adaptation of the plot-less videogame. Instead, the Apple-exclusive film (heading to the streaming service a few weeks after a SXSW premiere) takes a fictionalized look at the creation of Tetris and the story of how entrepreneur Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton) made a daring trip to the Soviet Union in 1988 to help inventor Alexey Pajitnov (Nikita Efremov) bring Tetris to the world and make videogame history. Jon S. Baird (Stan & Ollie) directs.

It's an adaptation of the nonfiction book by Alex Perry that follows a pair of women who married into Italy's largest crime families who bravely decide to team up with a young prosecutor to take down organized crime from within after another mafia wife is murdered.

Rescheduled from April 7. Apple's musical spoof returns for a second season that leaves its titular setting behind for the big city of, well, Schmicago. The new season will lovingly lampoon classic musicals from the 1960s and '70s (the prior season concentrated on musicals from a few decades earlier) and adds Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page to a returning cast that includes Keegan-Michael Key, Cecily Strong, Ariana DeBose, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Jane Krakowski, and Martin Short (among others), though most of them will be playing new characters. Also returning is showrunner Cinco Paul, who again contributes original songs to the six new episodes (the first two of which stream today).

Like Succession, another one of HBO's most acclaimed and popular shows is ending this spring with its fourth season—and, like that other show, the end comes as a choice made by the series creators rather than the network. The latest installment of the Emmy-winning dark comedy Barry will move the story in a radical new direction following last season's finale, which saw Bill Hader's titular assassin finally arrested. Will Barry come to a satisfying conclusion? There's reason to suspect it will: Season 4 was actually written in its entirety in 2020 prior to filming season 3, and the latter was then re-written to fit the overarching storyline. Hader directs all eight episodes this season after helming a handful over the previous seasons—including some of the show's most memorable installmetns—and the first two of those new episodes will air (and stream) back-to-back tonight.

Chris Evans, Catherine O'Hara, Jay Duplass, and Andy Garcia also star.

It's nice to finally have a release date for a film that has been in various stages of production since 2007. David Fincher's first film since 2020's Mank is another Netflix exclusive, and it reunites the director with his Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker. Adapted from the French graphic novel series by Alexis Nolent (aka Matz), The Killer stars Michael Fassbender as a solitary, nameless assassin caught in an existential crisis while on an international manhunt. Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, and Arliss Howard also star.

Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail writes and directs an adaptation of the 2020 novel by Rumaan Alam that finds a white New York family taking a weekend trip to a remote vaction home in the Hamptons that they rent from a Black couple. But when a widespread blackout renders all communication devices inoperable—and strange things start happening around them—they don't know whom to trust or what to believe. Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, Myha'la Herrold, and Kevin Bacon star in a drama that explores issues of race and class.

Director Zack Snyder's second straight Netflix film (following 2021's Army of the Dead) is a bigger-budget sci-fi epic that finds a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy threatened by invading forces. Enter the reluctant hero: A young woman with a mysterious past (Sofia Boutella) heads to nearby planets to recruit warriors to come to her colony's defense. Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Fisher, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Corey Stoll, Cary Elwes, and Jena Malone also star. The story has its origins in a Star Wars feature that Snyder was developing over a decade ago, though the final product is less family friendly than the Lucasfilm franchise—and is even expected to get an R-rated cut in addition to a tamer version. Rebel Moon is also expected to be split in two parts, though it's not clear yet if both will arrive today or if part 2 will be pushed to next year.
