Card game enthusiasts, in particular, will probably find a lot to like here. Tequila Games has a great creation here, and if it continues to update Earthcore and add new cards and challenges, I only see it getting better.
Even though it's not a perfect game, especially in some of the UI choices and the game's dark palette, this is a game I recommend without hesitation to any CCG player or any player who enjoys beautiful and clever games.
This is an awesome CCG! Such a great & different experience to Hearthstone. The graphics are really well done. The game feels really balanced and as I level up my Heroes the depth of the mechanics and gameplay are really sweet. Playing the multiplayer is a great challenge - sometimes really tough depending on your adversary, but get to see some other really cool crafted cards
This looks really exciting but I have my doubts about the F2P model. Also what is the ranking system in multiplayer? Great graphics and storyline, though!
An engaging card game with simple rules that offers a decent single player campaign and does not shove microtransactions down your throat. [08/2015, p.80]
Earthcore is a really well-made free card game. The rules are simple but you need to keep in mind that the game relies heavily on randomness and chaos (and that won't sit well with some of you). Still, the game is really fun and sooner or later you'll probably forget about these minor issues.
While it may be geared more towards hyper-competitive players with extra cash to burn, there’s still a lot to enjoy in EarthCore for even casual CCG fans. You may have to put up with some turbulence as you learn the ropes but the game’s seemingly simple yet addictingly fun premise is well worth the effort.
Good CCG, it doesn't nag you with continuous requests to buy stuff like other games do - and I actually didn't buy anything and kept levelling up anyway. Also a very dark story, got me intrigued.
Mostly I play on desktop, but occasionally try out mobiles too. Also last card game I've ever played on devices was Freecell, so I was coming to this game rather unsympathethic.
Well unsurprisingly I kept losing at the beginning, but then I didn't feel any discouragement, rather more and more I've felt engaged. This game values gameplay, but I am pleased they did focus on story part too; I love the graphics and stories, although I suspect for some of you the texts will be far too long.
So far I attest that Earthcore is free of 'Pay to Win' ill-syndrome: after few days and a series of developments (on second day already was I getting good grasp of it), I battled a guy 30 levels higher on Arena and expected to lose both to skills and his cards (since fully crafted hero cards give you a bonus over standard player), but i pulled it off! The best thing is, you can get any card in the game using normal ways, there is (up to date) no 'pay-only' cards/ bonuses/ ****
Overall, I keep playing and feeling good about this game. I'm eager to see where will it go
Great f2p system, very honest and generous. Fun card battling mechanics. Epic tactical depth in crafting. Overall, a must-play for ccg lovers. I especially love the robust ranking systems.
A great beautiful and well balanced CCG. The single player campaign is extensive, and the lore is really in-depth. I really like how active the developers are- regular updates to the game and engaged with fans on the forum/ social media.
I was hoping for a better game than Hearthstone. Unfortunately this is not the case. The main problem with HS that it is mostly reliant on luck instead of brains. This problem unfortunately is multiplied here due to a hand always consisting of only 4 **** other big issue is that the game is pay2win. While in HS you have a pretty decent chance with a cheap, but well-crafted deck, in Earthcore you have absolutely zero chance to beat a player with significantly higher levels.
Add in a gameplay mechanics that are too simple and cards that are over-the-top OP (overpowered) and you get a game which is a nice fix for about a week, then it wears thin pretty quickly. At least you can enjoy all features for free, the presentation is nice and the matchmaking is quick. Give it a try, you may like it more than I did.
