Mr. Crab claws his way to the top through perseverance and an adorable fashion sense.
I very much enjoyed my time playing Mr. Crab. While it doesn’t cram itself with the intentionally addictive progress bars and elements, the fast-paced gameplay and unique level design kept me glued to the iPad.
With its polished presentation, simple controls, and entertaining gameplay, Illusion Labs has the makings of another hit on its hands.
Mr. Crab ($0.99, Universal) is another finely crafted iOS experience from Illusion Labs that effortlessly rises above a crowded App Store to make it a should buy. This is how you rise above the sea of sameness in the App Store.
Mr. Crab is an adorable game with classic sensibilities. Though it could have spent more time iterating on its eventual brutally difficulty, it’s the right size as a digestible chunk of the sweaty-palmed platformers of yesteryear.
Mr. Crab is not just a very competent game for the most part, it's also a refreshingly different take on the platforming genre - one that's long overdue. It's a colorful and often clever game - qualities that overshadow the game's handful of frustrations.
Mr. Crab is the McDonald’s toy equivalent of an iPhone game, and it didn’t come free with the Happy Meal.
