Mullet Madjack is something between a clever parody and a loving tribute to the genres it was inspired by, full of both clever critique and engaging writing. Throw a fast-paced, exciting, and super-addictive gameplay loop on top of that, and you have my new favorite title.
Mullet MadJack is a crazy, frenetic mix of different genres and media: there's the 80s action hero, there's the art of classic anime, cyberpunk aesthetics, roguelike elements and, of course, FPS. In all this, there's still time for good humor and an incredible gameplay that brings it all together in an excellent game. It's challenging, thought-provoking and a great job by Hammer95.
A pleasant surprise for a genre that we thought was empty of new ideas. It's frantic proposal becomes more and more addictive. But beware, you should play it in small doses, because the extreme experience can become exhausting.
Mullet Madjack is a true love letter to '90s pop culture enthusiasts. The visuals are very appealing, the theme is well-developed, and the references are a treasure trove of surprises. Not to mention the soundtrack, which evokes nostalgic feelings of the good old arcade days.
Mullet Mad Jack is a blistering, balls-to-the-wall throwback to 90s anime and violent, dystopian sci-fi that marries boomer shooters with speedrunning and roguelike aspirations to form an absolutely intoxicating brew. It's short, and there's not much to keep you invested even with infinite floors to climb, but you'll be having a good fucking time while you're in it.
Inviting you to be the star of a vintage anime, Mullet Mad Jack is a fast-paced first-person shooter with roguelike elements that's basic at its core but still manages to be captivating — partly because of its impeccable presentation, and partly because it's simply so much fun to play.
Esse jogo é divertido de mais, e a historia é simplesmente fantástica, eu recomendo muito pra qualquer pessoa que se divertiu jogando jogos como doom ou neon white
waited for this since june of last year. did not dissapoint AT ALL. everything from the artwork to the gameplay to the cutscenes is one big love letter to the beauty that is VHS media from the 90's.
It's pure adrenaline. Absolute Chaos. As difficult as you need it to be, and It doesn't overstay it's welcome. It's a perfectly balanced blast with an incredibly satisfying ending and gorgeous animations and music. The Chapters are JUST the right length for someone who doesn't have a lot of time. And the endless mode will satisfy the insatiable. OH and if you are a speed runner, They have tuned some elements to be more accommodating. The Devs are active in the Discord and really great at interacting with the community. This game feels like it was made for me. I love it so much and my one biggest desire is that they make a physical edition big box copy of the game! But until then, they included a Virtual Big Box UNBOXING experience in the game, complete with full color user manual. The scope of the game is perfectly executed.
Cons: It is on the shorter side
I'm FIRMLY in the camp that 20 buks for a WELL crafted 4-6 hour experience is money EXTREMELY WELL spent! If you prefer long, boring 30+ hour grind games then THIS is not for you! You've been warned.
Summary MULLET MADJACK is a single-player fast-paced FPS that brings you directly inside a CLASSIC ANIME. Power up your character and reach the last floor; Beat your best time or try again. Haste makes waste… OF YOUR ENEMIES!
