    This is a small project, but it packs in its share of indelible images. Aperture Desk Job confirms that, even when working on a limited scale, Valve is still the best in the biz at plopping you down in the middle of a well-realized sci-fi world and conjuring up a host of imaginative sights before your wide, unblinking eyes.

    The game is set in the Portal universe, the most obvious indicator of this is that during the whole game, a Wheatley-like bot is talking to you. This one is slightly less of a moron. You have a desk that you sometimes you that displays the controller's buttons and sticks and reacts accordingly when you use them. This may seem like a minor detail, but I loved this so much, because it was just more added charm to the game. There really isn't much gameplay here, 95% of the game is just watching and listening to the story.

    Like Valve themselves say, this is a short game. The entire thing is about an hour. It's free anyway, so you might as well try it - if you have a controller, that is.

    And a short game deserves a short score, so Aperture Desk Job gets a 2,9/3 from me. Aperture Desk Job is a charming little experience, but not much more. There isn't anything wrong with the game, I found 0 bugs. I would have liked a bit more gameplay but it's a short, it's no big deal.    … Expand
