Ary is an ok game but it has some flaws attached to it. The story is interesting and there is some humour. The combat is a Zelda type of action. The problem is with multiple enemies that uses different types of defence. You have to use the season switching mechanism, but it's simply difficult to separate them. The graphics are cell shaded. Some area are better then others. There is a lotAry is an ok game but it has some flaws attached to it. The story is interesting and there is some humour. The combat is a Zelda type of action. Some area are better then others. There is a lot of clipping and limit drawings. The winter snowing and under water bubbles, are extremely tiresome for the eyes. The level design has large area with nothing in it, then you get the temples that are really too complex at times. No balance in the designing. I stopped the game at the winter boss, the one before the ending boss. By putting systems over systems, all you get are very complex combat that test the limit of the platforming gaming, and the patience of the gamer. So, the game experience went slowly from fun to painfully frustrating. I give the game 58%. The game is there but the realization is just too unequal on all levels. Expand

Even if the developers will manage to fix all the gamebreaking bugs with subsequent patches, the core issues like a weak battle system, mediocre plot and lazy worldbuilding are not going anywhere. The only thing that can motivate you to see this game through is Ary's never ending charisma and a chance to see some narrative closure.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons contains plenty of great ideas, but its poorly implemented action and lifeless world ruin the experience.

Even though Ary and the Secret of Seasons may not be the best action nor the best adventure game out there, it is unique in the way you decide how to change the environment around you.
