The new content makes the game feel fresh once again, and the size and scope are absolutely amazing when you consider this is a download-only expansion. It is sad that this may in fact be the final DLC for the game, but if it is, what an incredible way to go out.
Amazing DLC for the main game.
Borderlands is a fantastic game. It combines high paced action with good mechanics, a fun story, upbeat dub step music, humour, filthy jokes and does not take itself seriously.
I enjoyed every minute of the main game, it's story and the collecting of loot, cash and special items. And then I played the DLC’s. My god, they were even **** DLC’s are all over the place and add a fresh new mini campaign in each one of them with a completely different idea and style.
The last DLC I played, was The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, in which you search for the holy room of guns to make yourself invincible. Of course, this is not easy, and a ton of Crimson Raiders try to stop you, just as the depressed General Knoxx himself, whose only wish is to die.
I thought his depressing attitude was the best aspect of this DLC. He was so sad and hillarious at the same time.
I like that they combined jokes, characters, and events from the main game and the other DLC’s into each DLC, it makes everything feel more connected. Examples are Zombie T.K. Baha (killed in main game) and General Knoxx as a puppet in Claptrap’s revolution, who finally died in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, just like he so desperately wanted, but now is back as a zombie-puppet.
Overall, the main game and it’s DLC’s are in my top 10 favourite games of all time, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
This is easily the best Borderlands DLC. It adds a ton of new content in the forms of quests, a new story, new enemies, new vehicles and of course new weapons. Everything still has the same wit and charm as the base game. The level cap has been raised, making it worthwhile for anyone already at max level. The only minuses are that there are numerous glitches (my favorite being the time my character drove off without the car), and the severe amount of time wasted going to quests or backtracking. Still, this expansion is the best and completely worth the asking price.
With The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, Gearbox injects new life into one of the most addictive and brilliant digital worlds of 2009. New stories and missions, different vehicles, large maps and crazy characters can give Borderlands lovers a fair amount of playtime. Must buy for mercenaries, Crypt hunters and... claptraps!
The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is an almost perfect DLC, it adds tons of new weapons, quests, and other features, and it extends the level cap by 11, and adds a lot more hours gameplay, my only complaint and the only thing keeping it from a perfect 10, is that it has only one transit pole, which means you have to do a lot of backtracking through this massive DLC, but other than that this is a must own for Borderlands fans.
Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is the best dlc for the game. It is a very difficult expansion, but has an insane amount of good loot as a reward.
A content of the same quality than the main game, with one major flaw : no fast travel. This was less of a big deal in the zombie dlc because the map was smaller. But here, you not not quite à bigger map but with a hell lot of highways, and still those missions which require to go back and forth .. Nice story, but the absence of fast travel quite lowered the quality of the experience for me here.
Summary(Downloadable Content) Borderlands goes to ELEVEN! You may have seen some games raise their level cap by 5, or maybe even 10, but with The Crimson Lance Assassination Squads wreaking havoc and Crawmerax the Invincible being all invulnerable and stuff we knew you'd need more than just 10. And that's why Borderlands goes to ELEVEN! The Se...
