    quite remake amazing to see old game with this detail. even zooming camera close pushing like third person view game. hard to play like that but for detail still intact. ı cant give 10 bcouse not offline like old relase and not have pc physcal rlease which is prety low respect legacy of pc this game.

    I have lost my character and several hours in hardcore mode due to connectivity issue. I am 100% sure that this is on Blizzard's side. The quality of the game is horrible. I am not sure if they have tested it. AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Please, please do NOT buy this remastered game.     First off, I played the campaign with an offline character and it was a very good experience. About online play I cannot say anything. Offline is very solid though.

    So, this is a very good remaster of D2. Graphics are good, combat is fun, overall atmosphere is dark and mysterious. I you do all quests and some grinding, you will need 30-50 hours. I don't know what problems other    First off, I played the campaign with an offline character and it was a very good experience. About online play I cannot say anything.     So, this is a very good remaster of D2. Graphics are good, combat is fun, overall atmosphere is dark and mysterious.

    I you do all quests and some grinding, you will need 30-50 hours.

    I don't know what problems other people have with this game but I had a really good time!

    Defintetly better than Diablo III which is like an Arcade game.

    Game just straight refuses to play on 60 fps and drops to 30 fps for no reason at all. Gpu usage is high, fan is working, gpu temp is not to high, and then after 10 minutes of playing it just drops to 30. And this is many many MONTHS AFTER the game is released. I tried posting on reddit. I tried an older game driver. I tried other things, nothign works.     The amount of crashes makes the game impossible to evaluate. I'm not even excited for Diablo IV, it's been way too much disappointments since Diablo III.
    It's a cashgrab. Go play something else, something that at least doesn't crashes 20 times a day.

    Well, at first the nostalgic feeling gets you, but god, it's getting old and I had a second thought on the Diablo iii gameplay on which I had been a bit hard at the time.

    Still it's a old good game but not sure that I'll finsih it or at least just with one class but after that I think I'll just wait for Diablo IV

Unfortunately, since the gameplay didn't change at all (which is the point of a remaster TBH), the age of the gameplay really feels, it's just not as fun to play as 20 years ago.     Constant disconnects and random crashes (Especially after killing named enemies), ruins the flow of the game in a major way.

    Graphics are good and the legacy mode is a neat feature, but the stability is beyond atrocious.

    Great remaster. I have played through the campaign, checked all details including npc's talk, background arts, and music and they reminded me of nostalgia during early 2000s.

    No remake, ever, is going to be worth the full price tag of a new game of current generation, EVER. You don't sell a used car with a new coat of paint the original price. Thats dumb as hell. Never buy a remake or remastered the full price. Make it an upgrade for those who already own the game, or make a new standard price for REMASTER or REMAKE like 60% of current gen price MAX.

    No offline, no mods, no tcp-ip ?

    Bliz/activision has no business being in charge of this IP, hopefully MS goes scorched earth on that entire studio when they take over. D2R is a disgraceful reskin and a shameless cash grab. Even if all the current "improvements" had been in the initial release it would have been a huge disappointment. It really should have been such an easy win too, they didn't even try.

    A memory from childhood resurrected :>

    Better graphics, better movement, better audio, somewhat active patching from the devs, better user experience overall.

    I have no clue what these people are smoking, or why they jumped on an hate train, but this game felt amazing to me. Activision-Blizzard are creating fiascos, such as Diablo Immoral, but this is not one of them.

    I say improved art, but I loved going back to the old artwork. The imperfect graphics actually made the game look a lot scarier. It’s really hard to outdo the original graphics, but the new ones did a satisfactory job simply being “modern.” The reason why this is a massive pro is that I can’t stand the font of old Diablo. It would legitimately prevent me from playing the game. The changes made to the game made it more friendly to newcomers.
    Diablo II excels at the grind for gear. It takes hours upon hours. But the game’s theme of hell and the gameplay is actually very clever. You grind for rare gear (people would hate me for making this comparison, but this is how it feels for me) which feels an awful lot like shiny hunting in Pokemon. Players fight wave after wave, exit the game, and do it again. Over and over and over again. You beat the game, and you start over—only to realize that the game’s gotten harder. You complete the same quests, fight the same bosses, the same monsters, everything again, except they deal much more damage and can take a lot more punishment. It’s kind of how I’d imagine hell would be—a lack of change—and it’s brilliant. The classes are diverse, and you can tackle the game at your own pace.
    Death is punishing as you might lose all your hard-earned gear you grinded hours for. It’s fun I guess, but I can tell you I had to spend 5 or so hours at times trying to recover gear after dying. Quitting was not an option because I would lose a lot more than 5 hours worth of gear. It’s something I could do without personally.
    Newcomers of the game won’t strategize properly for the final difficulty where monsters can have total immunities. It’s important to strategize and have multiple sources of damage. Otherwise some battles will take a very, very long time.
    All in all, playing this game, I recognize why it’s considered a gem (especially when looking at the old graphics). It is also coop which means you can strategize and tackle the game with friends, though the game does not support cross play. Even if the price tag seems a little high, it will no doubt occasionally go on sale. I am optimistic about the future of the genre, but Diablo II celebrates all the good from the good old days.. If you are into the genre, Diablo II Resurrected is a pretty safe bet.    … Expand

    I'm extremely disappointed, I was one of those who couldn't play when it was launched because of a bug related to the generation of the processor (the beta was working), it started badly.

    For me the drop rates of certain objects, even runes, have dropped, I made two HL characters, the first and second season, not even had battle boots or a herald, on the other hand I have enough to fill several accounts of sigon set found in hell.
    All that to say that this game is too expensive for a remake, and it is just thought to keep sites like D2JSP (lamer site) or the use of bots going.

    Great remaster of one of the best game ever made! I admire graphics improvement and smooth characters animations. VFXs are also great! No unnecessary changes have been made. This is still the same good old Diablo II but now it looks wonderful!

    In comparison to Diablo Immortal, this should get an 10, just because don't have P2W ... But the servers are horrible, lagging a lot, bots everywhere, sites selling itens for real money... Well, I just can't give a good review... the reflect is how Activision/Blizzard are holding their games, just thinking in money and nothing else!

    beautifull remake from vicarious. **** servers from blizzard. Sadly making this unplayable as servers have been going down nearly daily since launch. I gave them time, its been 3 weeks.

    update: halfway into season 1 and it runs... better. still not where it should be at but hey i'll take it, since its my last blizzard product if immortal gives us a look into blizzards future.

    I was so excited for this game and for the most part it did not disappoint. The server issues at launch were terrible but have gotten better in recent months. If they could fix some of the really dated mechanics it would be even better. The stash and rune/gem storage definitely needs a stacking ability.

    THE GOOD: everything Diablo and new visuals.

They could have done so much more than just upgrade the graphics but they really didn't. It sometimes is annoying to play cause the game aged incredibly bad. It's still a classic and worth a while, but there just isnt enough content to please a lot of veterans thatThis is a classic diablo 2 remastered, yes.     Do Not Play this game Online Its full of Lag Spikes and Bugs Game is using 2002 Toasters for servers and not Microsoft azure or amazon gave up on the final level after dying to a bunch of mobs along with lag **** Blizzard and not wanting to give players good servers

You spend hours of waiting and waiting instead of playing. Wow, I´m genuinely speechless. Blizzard does everything to prevent people from playing and especially playing together. And guess what - there are hard crashes every here and then - and sometimes, after immediately reopening the game, theres that frigging Waiting queue again! Blizzard, you´re pissing me off at a degree, it´s not measureable anymore. As if your reputation isn´t already as low as it can get. But instead of redeeming yourself by making ONE single decision right during the last 10 years by delivering ONE single GOOD game for diversion, you present us this unfinished hardcore mess of a game where nobody can just play and have fun. Besides, those server issues are so severe that Blizzard decided to use old Backups when something crashes again and again so parts of your progress are lost. Great. They said " we didn´t expect players to create and kill so much game sessions" as if they hadn´t seen any other Diablo or RPG ever before. Liars... This Peace of crap could have been a great revival of the most epic action rpg of all time... I´m ashamed. Lowest rating guys...

    Edit/Update Nov. 15. - There was a patch and now the waiting queues are almost gone, you can immediately join new games now after a typo etc. and they added a countdown to at least be able to see how long you have to wait instead of that stupid error warning. No progress lost since, and i can play with people in my friends list every time now. Hard Crashes are more rare now. There are good improvements here. No 0/10 rating anymore, now it´s playable and as addicting as always. Good stuff.    … Expand

    Vicarious visions did a great job bringing game to 3d. Technical bugs will be sorted in a week. People are acting like this was like the warcraft 3 debacle. Nope game is great.     Almost perfect. I didn't like the coverage of the cleavage on some of the models. I play offline so the server issues don't apply to me. However, I can see why such a low rating is given due to server instability.

It's a great game under a pile of modern blizzard culture BS and decision making, I'm only shocked it didn't launch with a max level boost- but they do have pay to win gold find boosts because of course they do.

    They've done it again- taken the halfway route. They do a few good visual upgrades (lighting, background, effects are much improved, and the new cinematics are very nice), and some qol changes- relative straight forward, simple things that are enough to change the game.

    But no new maps, gameplay loop, modes, etc... because that would take effort and money, and they need their billions to buy new shredders and cameras to spy on bowls of fruit.

    Either keep the game unchanged aside from solely visual upgrades (which overall they didn't even manage), or if you're going to change things put some effort into it. As expected from the company known best for abusing their staff- Blizz wanted to have its sh*t and eat it too.    … Expand

    Gameplay is almost unchanged. The beginning can be difficult, depending on the class, and there's no hand holding. Once you get going, the first 90 levels are easy, the rest is a horrible grind. As it should be. The same goes for farming items and it's awesome.

    If you're the kind of cry baby that destroyed Diablo III with your incessant "I WANT EVERYTHING ONE WEEK AFTER RELEASE" and one week later "I HAVE EVERYTHING, THE GAME IS BORING", kindly stay away from Diablo II. This is gaming as it was meant to be. Easy to learn, hard to master.

    I think they could have done even more regarding UI and stash improvements. A better lobby with game tags for farming, story, trading. A loot filter and maybe optionally a buff bar. Stash search, more stash space, a stash tab for resources. But then again some might argue that it would take away from the original feel, but these are just things I have come to expect from modern games.    … Expand

    I played Diablo 2 at original launch back in the 90s and remains one of my favorite games but this game just has not aged well at all, Even though the remastered textures and graphics are good, and a few minor quality of life tweaks there remains significant issues and new issues that really hurt the overall experience but what really hurts the experience is the sloppy launch with terrible servers and a really unstable client that constantly crashes.

    Also, people have to realize this game is 20+ years old and isn't something you can get instant gratification from, the 'rush' to hell mode and loot runs in D2R has significantly more problems than vanilla.

    Like the original, the game is heavily based around BAAL runs, the general flow of the game is to rush to BAAL then repeat until you level, then repeat on a higher difficulty and rush to BAAL and repeat until you hit the 90s then the amount of experience required becomes so ridiculous into the billions that it becomes so boring and you literally require a full group in order to get any meaningful experience.

    1) The addition of controllers are making it waaay to easy for loot thief's to spam A to insta-pick up loot on boss runs, its basically just spam that button and grab loot, this is almost as bad as the auto-pick up hack back in the day, honestly ~ this is a major oversight. Basically, it goes like this ~ on baal runs you can literally run right next to Baal and as he's about to die, you mash button A and grab all the loot...as long as no one else is doing the same, this makes people using mouse have a massive disadvantage.

    2) Server instability is still a problem, many of the issues should not have happened considering this is the same engine, with just a few minor things removed like TCP/IP so the server problems shouldn't have been so bad, and still are causing issues joining/creating games even several days after launch. The game will be playable but expect significant downtime on server or login issues.

    3) The D2R client is EXTREMELY unstable and is prone to crashing ALOT, the game crashes very frequently often just without any explanation..just crashes to desktop, this happens to everyone.

    4) Hackers already ruining the experience, and at ladder launch will destroy any legitimacy. I've already seen one level 99 hardcore Sorceress in FULL Tal Rasha set, which I call completely BS on that after just two weeks from launch? Seen a bunch of regular Level 99s too. Not to mention pickit hacks are already rampant, Blizzard you need to start BANNING.

    5) They had a chance to redesign and fix some of the worst issues with the game, such as the horrible Belial boss fight which is notoriously bad and some classes have a nearly impossible struggle to solo forcing them to group up just to beat the boss...same with several other bosses which for some classes really struggle, class balance has always been a bit of an issue, especially with Sorcs.....and if you can't group up, you have to do a mindless grind to overlevel/overgear and brute force your way past certain bosses.

    6) Just 3 days after launch, hackers and dupers started to become a problem meaning Blizz did not really increase security or anti-cheating detection really at all, several known DUPES are still a huge problem especially with Gems and Runes.

    7) Lobby is still awful, needed a desperate overhaul and it didn't get it. Difficult to find games you want to join, the list often refreshes itself on a whim so if you see a game you want to join, sometimes it'll just disappear on you before you can click join, only to reappear later. Really need keyword searches to be added and other filters so you can look for specific quests or runs to join.

    8) The addition of horrendously bad queue times, often means you could literally be waiting up to an hour, if not even longer at times just to play the game and if your client crashes or you get kicked off, then you have to re-queue, this is just absurd especially when a vast majority of people are using pindlebots and essentially are logged in 24/7.

    9) This is basically the exact same as you remember Diablo 2, the good.....and the bad, many of the old glitches, exploits and frankly terrible design decisions are all intact, coupled with many terrible patch ideas that nerfed most of the original Diablo which heavily limited builds and destroyed classes like barbarians and amazons which got hit with huge nerfs and now, are very limited in builds that are hell viable.

    In closing, Diablo 2 is a great OLD game with a fresh coat of paint and it looks great, and feels exactly like how I remember but this game just has not aged well at all, couple that with all the server problems and client stability make for a very frustrating and aggravating experience.    … Expand

    They built in battle.net as a required component, however they didn't bother to add any means of inviting friends/joining a friends game. I didn't want a entirely new game as Diablo 2 was already great, but for the    Mediocre launch for a 20+ year old game. Week one servers were a disaster. The client is still super buggy with constant disconnects or errors connecting to Battle.net.

    I didn't want a entirely new game as Diablo 2 was already great, but for the price they charge (top tier game title) it is no where NEAR as polished as it should be.    … Expand

    This game is so bad that Blizzard is literally still fixing everything until the time this whole "lovely" game is going for a sale for 25% off.

    So are you expecting they fixed all the issues? No! They "lovely" published a preview for "Patch" 23. I don't need your "lovely" "preview" for "patches". Patch won't make the way isn't the "lovely" patch. They are the same as rumor! "Love" you blizzard!

    server issues are fixed. this game stays TRUE to the original. same addictive game as ever. this is how a remastered is done. looking at you GTA

    Yes there are server issues currently but they are being worked on. These will be ironed out over time. But the actual game is very well done and captures the original wonderfully.

    It's a shame because the game is great, but apparently Blizzard doesn't know how to set up servers because the online experience is atrocious. How does a company that has the biggest MMO of all time manage to fail that badly? It's like we didn't know people would farm spindle. Have you played your game? This is pretty much the whole point. Иконки самоцветов и черепов рисовал студент первого курса дизайна. Лица и фигуры женских персонажей рисовал женоненавистник с женофобом вместе. Лица ужасны, все голые, в оригинальной игре, части тела замотаны и спрятаны.     Теперь хорошее: это прекрасный ремастер, монстры и окружение перерисованы фантастически. Геймплейные изменения сведены к минимуму, по этому играется точно так же как 20 лет назад. Дополню, через 2 недели в это стало невозможно играть, сервера лежат уже неделю. ___________________________________________________________________________

The icons for gems and skulls were drawn by a first-year design student. The faces and figures of the female characters were drawn by the misogynist and the misogynist together. The faces are terrible, all naked, in the original game, body parts are wrapped and hidden. And the Amazon in general is like the twin brother of the necromancer. There is a disgusting bug, the drawn map of the area remains after a restart, which is terribly confusing. You go like to the passage on the map, and there is a solid wall.     This is a wonderful revitalization of Diablo 2, a classic action RPG :) I've thoroughly enjoyed playing through the game once-through, as a Blizzball Sorceress, doing Offline self-found. I totally understand those bad reviews and I feel Diablo 2 Resurrected is best played Offline Solo and the renewed graphics and content/bug fixes really shine there, imo. I highly recommend this game to new & old players and encourage people to play Offline and research the game online to understand the many game mechanics. Once you get into the game, it's a great adventure :)… Expand

    Diablo II: Resurrected is far from perfect. The changes in character design are likely to rile up returning players, and the archaic gameplay probably won’t agree with younger generations weaned on more streamlined, sophisticated experiences. While I appreciate that this legendary title is now available in an improved format, it’s not a caveat-free recommend.

    Diablo II: Resurrection is outdated return of the legend, but it brings such a perfect atmosphere and such a wonderful audiovisual processing, that serie fans will be excited.

    Diablo II returns with refreshed graphics and unaltered gameplay (apart from some small improvements). It’s as fun as I remembered, so I quickly felt at home and gave in to nostalgia. However, it’s hard not to notice that beneath revamped visuals lies a 21 years old design. [12/2021, p.32]
