+Great story +Great gameplay +Characters you learn to love +Epic +Lots and lots of content for the money +Great soundtrack -Extremely difficult, unless playing as a mage, in which case the game is extremely easy. -Graphical bugs results in certain armors not displaying correctly. -Party AI is not as great as it could be. -Auto-save feature doesn't save the game NEARLY often enough. -The game crashes all the time in combat. Combined with a less than useful auto-save system, this means you either manually save a lot or prepared to lose hours and hours of progress. In summary, game could've been much better, but it's still good.â
The ultimate edition is amazing, but as it has been pointed out there are still plenty of the bugs from the original release. It's sad that such a great company as Bioware would merge with one of the most pathetic gaming companies that exists, EA. You can see the level of quality EA puts out. Don't expect much from Bioware in the future. They're dead.
Dragon Age: Origins had the potential to be a far better game than it turned out to be. The story (though not groundbreaking) and art direction are worthy of praise, but BioWare's mistakes in quality assurance and marketing shred its score. Even this "Ultimate Edition" is riddled with bugs - and this is after four major patches. Even now, it is not up to what I would consider release quality - there are quest lines that cannot be completed, entire groups of items whose statistics don't actually do anything, display conflicts, glitched flags, so on and so forth. It ruined the experience for me during this game, and BioWare's response to it (ignore the problems and complaints, release a tool-set for PC users to fix the problems themselves, move on to sequel) have tarnished the company as a whole in my eyes. If you care enough to put in the work, buy PC and check the Dragon Age Wiki for ways to correct the broken code. The console version may be possible to complete and basically functional - but is that really praise?
