  • Summary: Fight’N Rage is a brand new old-school side-scroller beat’em up. Inspired by the classics from the “golden age”, and with an art style that mimics the aesthetic from the 90's arcade gems, this game pays homage to all classic gameplay features.

Fight’N Rage easily deserves a spot alongside Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, and Final Fight, offering extremely satisfying action, sharp foes, deep movesets, solid music, and delightful punches.

Fight N Rage dispatches another radical blast from the past. If you ever played Final Fight or Streets of Rage you will just love what feels like a new entry on the awesome line of brawlers from Capcom.

Best old school, pure pixel art beat'em up in decades. Captures perfectly the soul of the classics and includes a big amount of content.

Best beat'em up I've played in a long while, specially after the disappointments that were Mother Russia Bleeds and Double Dragon IV. AmazingBest beat'em up I've played in a long while, specially after the disappointments that were Mother Russia Bleeds and Double Dragon IV. Amazing combat system and pace, beautiful designs, kick-ass soundtrack, and lots of unlockables, different endings and extra modes that add a lot of replayability value to the game. A must buy if you love old school beat'em ups like the Streets of Rage series or Capcom games like Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Captain Commando or Alien vs. Predator. Expand

Fight’N Rage is an excellent beat'em up with multiple endings and simple yet hard to master combo system. However, like Streets of Rage andFight’N Rage is an excellent beat'em up with multiple endings and simple yet hard to master combo system. However, like Streets of Rage and Double Dragon before it, the difficultly is a bit steep with the boss fights, but the difficulty can be adjusted. The graphics are top-notch with great sound and character designs. If you love old-school beat'em ups, this is the game for you. Just note the game can be a bit repetitive, but the core gameplay loop is entertaining and satisfying once you get into the swing of things. Expand

A good beat'em up game. Repetitive over time but a fun game to play. If you are looking for a nice beat'em up game, I would recommend it.

I've played almost every single side scrolling beat-em-up style games from the 80s and 90s, whilst this game is quite authentic in its representation, the gameplay is just dreadful and suffers from the worst issues the same games had in the 90s with far too many enemies on screen but unforgivably are the bosses which are just cheap and each time you get defeated you have to essentially restart the stage again, so you essentially just brute forcing your way through the game, the game is really designed for multi-player and playing single player is significantly harder.

Bosses move faster than you, and have a greater range so becomes more annoying to fight, and sequences like biker gang is just moronic, being hit once can get you chain locked without you being able to easily escape and/or getting caught in a bike explosion which pretty much insta-kills you.

For the playthrough, I picked Gal because she is supposedly fast, agile and in games like this...that is a huge advantage, well I found her speed to be less than fast and about as agile as a dead hamster, all bosses move faster than her regular walking speed and if you are fighting multiple bosses at once...single player? Forget it, you're in for a frustrating time as you get chained and smacked around like a doll.

I had issues with my xbox pad, I couldn't charge with thumb sticks at all and had to use the D-pad for charging attacks, not sure what was going on with that and that didn't help much when surrounded by enemies.

My suggestion for the future is to be careful with balancing 2D beat-em-ups for single player first and foremost, the vast majority of players will always be playing solo and that means if you need to account for that, some levels and bosses feel straight up they was designed for multiplayer and that is a problem, this isn't about getting gud, this is about balance for a genre that has always been about instant gratification and quick/easy gameplay.
