We had this plain awesome game called half-life that pretty much everyone played. Singleplayer, Multiplayer, we made lan parties, there were hundreds of new maps and modifications every week. (You really had to see it to believe how ridiculously big the community actually was and how many downloads there were available for this game) Than on top of all this, this very good official addon was announced and released to further enhance the singleplayer and multiplayer. Thank you Gearbox!. How could it get any better?

Gearbox has literally outdone them self on this masterpiece of a game. With strikingly superior graphics for this games time and innovative story telling, this game honestly deserves a ten.
I remember sitting, waiting for this game to be released at a young age after beating the first Half-Life.
The story is fantastic, showing a different perspective. Instead of being the protagonist Gordon Freeman, you now take place as an antagonist known as Adrian Shepard. Moving on the the multi player, it is insanely fun. The excessive amount of explosions going on around you is an exciting add-on to this game. With servers still running eleven years later, this game is fantastic. Don't think that Opposing Force lacks a cooperative mode, because one Coop server is currently running with a maximum slot of 32 players per match.

Overall, this game is a splendid masterpiece and I would recommend anyone buying. It's a ten dollars worth spending on a game such as this one.

PS i am between an 8.5 and a 9

A great expansion pack to the main game . Worth playing even to this day ( same i say with goldeneye for n64) , very fun to witness the events from a different point of view. Just long enough. Just hard enough, great level design. Good weapon variety and enemy variety.
The only minor complaint is arguably the aiming. While the aiming works, sometimes the autoaim is a hindrance.
However a great fps game. And while fps isnt my fav genre , sometimes fps , especially when the fps is good and hard they tend to stick with me. Like this game , moh frontline, nolf, golden eye, perfect dark etc.
    Recommended.
PS: play it after you done with the orginal.
    Thanks for reading.

Half-Life: Opposing Force is an expansion for the original Half-Life. This time you are Corporal Shepard, a soldier tasked with hunting down Gordon Freeman while fending of aliens at the same time. It soon turns out that in general chaos everyone fights everyone, including new alien species and black ops soldiers.

There are a few new weapons (alien lightning gun, Desert Eagle) and some new features. You get to lead other soldiers with various specialties: engineer who can cut doors, medic who can heal you. You learn to climb ropes and at one point you can use alien technology of grappling gun.

Graphics is not great, but it's cool enough and the level design with brilliant color schemes and lighting styles makes up for it.

Music sets the mood nicely, especially dynamic themes when something serious is going down.

It's 2015 and I definitely enjoyed playing Half-Life: Opposing Force!

A great expansion that manages to hold on it's own without leaning too much on the already successful Half-Life. Gives you a new perspectiveA great expansion that manages to hold on it's own without leaning too much on the already successful Half-Life. Gives you a new perspective on the story line, perfectly supplements the events in Half-Life and throws in some new things that offer a different experience.

It also has it's shortcomings. In the training level you learn how to lead and command your own squad, but this barely gets utilized in the actual game and when it does the squad becomes more of a burden than a help because the A.I. is horrible. Also towards the last few levels you end up with so many weapons in your arsenal that you can't decide what to use when in a pinch.

All in all, not perfect, but very fun.
