For an expansion, Opposing Force has literally great potential and game play value.

Can't say a lot of things if you played the original game, basically is the original plot re-told from the eyes of the HECU soldier Adrian Shephard.

As is a expansion, beyond the relatively new story, it also features new characters, new places, more multiplayer maps and weapons.

Like the original game, the journey is memorable, and has a great replay value, and like Half-Life, it also inspired a re-creation on the Source engine, called Operation Black Mesa.

Gearbox has literally outdone them self on this masterpiece of a game. With strikingly superior graphics for this games time and innovative story telling, this game honestly deserves a ten.
I remember sitting, waiting for this game to be released at a young age after beating the first Half-Life.
The story is fantastic, showing a different perspective. Instead of being the protagonist Gordon Freeman, you now take place as an antagonist known as Adrian Shepard. Moving on the the multi player, it is insanely fun. The excessive amount of explosions going on around you is an exciting add-on to this game. With servers still running eleven years later, this game is fantastic. Don't think that Opposing Force lacks a cooperative mode, because one Coop server is currently running with a maximum slot of 32 players per match.

Overall, this game is a splendid masterpiece and I would recommend anyone buying. It's a ten dollars worth spending on a game such as this one.

It has a long story like half life itself (unlike Blue Shift one). It really gives you a different experience of the same game. But there are really bad few bugs. Like you can get stuck in the elevator, doors etc. But still my money worth it! Expand

Opposing force is a solid expansion pack but it doesn't add anything new to the formula, it just reuses the same mechanics and gameplay. theOpposing force is a solid expansion pack but it doesn't add anything new to the formula, it just reuses the same mechanics and gameplay. the story elements of opposing force are interesting but they are nothing like the original Half-Life. I felt they added too much new weapons and enemies too quick, The original Half-life took it slow and had a lot more build-up. Opposing force is a very good expansion pack that is worth experiencing but it's nothing new or interesting. Expand
