    I spent two hours with this before realizing that the whole game play loop was based around grinding.
    Go into a dungeon, kite some monsters, make your numbers go up, rinse and repeat. Not worth my time.

    Pros:
    - Pretty
    - Snappy attacks and animations

    Cons:
    - Grind grind grind
    - clunky keyboard controls (if you don't have a controller)

    Phenomenal game, the customization, different forms and combinations keep the game really frssh the whole way through. The dungeons are challenging and fun. The animations are very well done.

    Nobody Saves The World (NSTW) is an exceptional RPG that I found incredibly addicting despite a very familiar gameplay loop.

    The graphics are largely 2D but detailed and fluid to the extent that you can tell great care was taken with them. When the framerate hits its peak the game is a pleasure to look at. Everything is well-designed, from the maps to the enemies. I didn't find it
    Nobody Saves The World (NSTW) is an exceptional RPG that I found incredibly addicting despite a very familiar gameplay loop.

    The graphics are largely 2D but detailed and fluid to the extent that you can tell great care was taken with them. When the framerate hits its peak the game is a pleasure to look at. Everything is well-designed, from the maps to the enemies. I didn't find it overly repetitive despite the repeating enemies and dungeons. The theme was a bit post-apocalyptic which explains the lack of vibrant colours in many places but it would have been nice to see more fantasy dungeons filled with rainbows or something,

    The gameplay of NSTW is the familiar dungeon-crawler RPG loop that we know so well from the days of Diablo and similar games. What NSTW does ingeniously well is to innovate this by having your character change forms instead of having to equip weapons and armour. This simplified without dulling the whole process of being an RPG. I loved levelling up my forms to unlock newer versions. To add to this ingenuity they also later allowed mixing and matching of the abilities between forms, allowing for a lot of creative freedom.

    The only downside to this was that upgrading is achieved through reaching goals with each form and some of these goals could be very tedious and annoying to achieve. These were the minority, however, and most upgrades were great for surreptitiously teaching you how to use abilities, showing that boring tutorials are not always necessary.

    Most of the missions were engaging and enjoyable, but a handful also became annoying such as at the archery range and the dungeon where every hit causes 9999 damage.

    The story of NSTW makes for compelling narratives as you aren't neck-deep in lore, gradually learning what has happened to you and your goals as the game progresses. There's a lot of humour in there too which I really enjoyed. The game also benefits from the option of engaging with the story as much as you want or just zooming through the dialogue.

    Overall, NSTW is the perfect way to start 2022 in gaming at a time when I found myself burnt out by the same old crap by the end of 2021. It marries familiar mechanics with clever innovation for a very enjoyable experience.

What is grindy about having nearly 20 "forms" to play through? Bored with one play style, change it up. Add another feature from a different form. And the "grinds" are all incredibly reasonable. The ones that require a lot more (do X 400 times) are skills that are often spammed and the quest will resolve itself before you notice.

    The gameplay is tight, the monster variety is good enough. The way you attain forms and develop your forms is a lot of fun and gives you great reward feedback. This game is perfect for the type of person who likes to roll "alts" in a MMO style game because you enjoy exploring the gameplay of different classes.

    The only complaint I could have is that the game can be a bit too easy if you are a completionist and focus on developing characters early.

    I am over halfway through the game and am looking forward to getting 100% completion on this. It's definitely my cup of tea!

    Nobody Saves the World es un juego entretenido aunque no le va a cambiar la vida a nadie. La idea es jugar cambiando de forma, cada una de las cuales tiene sus propias habilidades, de modo que vamos jugando de una a otra según las situaciones y retos que tenemos, los enemigos presentes, etc. Como llegado un punto además tenemos la posibilidad de mezclar habilidades de unas y otras, acabaNobody Saves the World es un juego entretenido aunque no le va a cambiar la vida a nadie. La idea es jugar cambiando de forma, cada una de las cuales tiene sus propias habilidades, de modo que vamos jugando de una a otra según las situaciones y retos que tenemos, los enemigos presentes, etc. Como llegado un punto además tenemos la posibilidad de mezclar habilidades de unas y otras, acaba habiendo una cierta profundidad a la hora de hacer builds, que se potencia por el hecho de que para progresar por las clases hace falta ir haciendo objetivos concretos que requieren jugar de ciertas formas (un sistema que mola y hace el juego variado, aunque hay algunas pruebas coñazo). La variedad de enemigos es aceptable, pero no espectacular, y la historia es bastante mala.

    Gráficamente el juego es, en el mejor de los casos, discreto, cuando no directamente malo, especialmente en la falta de animaciones. Lo mismo se puede decir del sonido, que no es nada gran cosa y la música en especial se vuelve muy repetitiva. Pero, al menos, en mi partida no ha habido bugs de relevancia.

    Por todo ello, no es un juego que vaya a revolucionar nada ni eso, pero si consigue entretener. Un 5,5.

    Loved it. Easily put in 20 hours without thinking. Reminds me of South Park Fracture But Whole. Short but very carefully crafted. Loved experimenting with abilities and everything connects so well. For 30$ you will get 30$ worth of fun gameplay.

    The game is a great grind! an indi you shouldn't sleep on, if you like ARPG's check this one out. They added co-op adding a good amount of replayability.

    the bad:
    - grindfest: you have to grind like hell only way to get exp is to do quests and you have to do this with each form. So you have to level up every form to S rank and even when you do level up the baddies level up with you! so you can grind as much as you want and later on you still get creamed in the higher dungeons even at lvl 60+! you have to spend literally hours doing this
    - never enough mana: later on you have to constantly use mana and your always running out (especially with the dragon he EATS IT like candy!) if you run out of mana during a boss (and you will) your pretty much screwed
    - wards ruin the whole game: this is the reason i stopped playing this. some dungeons have mobs with wards on them so you have to equip certain abilities to counter them. you can never make your perfect build since you have to constantly change abilities or swap to other forms than swap back to get rid of wards! you can't kill a baddy with a ward they are invincible. during boss fights is incredibly frustrating since there are so many mobs coming at you it's really hard to see what ward they have and you end up getting slaughtered because they can attack you but you can't attack them unless you have the right ability and if you don't run out of mana (you will)
    - dungeons are cut and paste: each dungeon is exactly the same just with a different look go around smashing stuff to get money, mana and food enter an area where usually a huge group of mobs is and kill them than move on rinse and repeat.
    - nothing like zelda: you see them screenshots with a huge world to explore etc? hate to break it to you but the map is pretty much empty all you do is kill baddie mobs in your way, do a quest here and there which ends up giving you a poor amount of exp or enter a dungeon now and than but they are all the same (see above)

    verdict:
    - too grindy
    - mobs are way OP later on
    - can't powerlevel since baddies match your stats in higher level dungeons
    - boring dungeons
    - always run out of mana so you have to constantly switch to nobody and use slap (except during a boss)
    - can't use dragon properly without having to replenish mana after Evey single mob fight.
    - wards SUCK

    This one has a classic top down look to it but loaded with all kinds of goodies from all over the action RPG genre. Sure, initially you may get the feeling this is inspired from Zelda but that’s only in the camera angle and that feeling goes away very quickly. Fans of The Binding of Isaac will love the gross and overly animated beings and creatures throughout the land. The landscape itself is very creative and very much alive. The monsters are wicked and get more ludacris as you level up and conquer more dungeons. The dungeons themselves turn into Diablo-esque mazes with hordes of monsters trying to swarm you and kill you.

    The gameplay itself is meant to attract newer/casual gamers while also appealing to those who have been playing games similar to this for decades. The amount of quests that open up are wild, you will constantly be busy with quests and the map tells you exactly what to do and where to go. You won’t get lost but it won’t hold your hand. You do have to figure out the land and use your forms to navigate and fight.

    The form transformation itself is a neat mechanic. You’re a naked bald kid that finds a magic wand, this wand allows you to turn into powerful forms that have different skills and powers. These skills allow you to find secrets within the overworld and allow you to beat certain monsters as you progress. You can even customize a form with other forms skills to really create a skilled hero. Each form has its strengths and weaknesses and it's your job to navigate and figure out which one is best for your current situation.

    Speaking of weakness, enemies have wards that you have to figure out as you progress. If a “baddie” has a blunt attack ward, you must hit them with a blunt attack. A sharp ward? You must hit them with a sharp attack. This adds a depth to the fighting and makes it so you have to be strategic in certain dungeons. If you don’t have the level or skills yet to fight off these enemies, then you must get XP….right? Well killing enemies doesn’t give you XP. Completing quests and conquering dungeons grants you XP. You also have 2 XP bars. One XP bar for your current form and another XP bar for your overall levels. Pay attention to your quest log to gain XP at a faster rate, especially when using certain forms as you can only use specific skills to complete specific quests.

    Save and save a lot. Death is inevitable but it's not as punishing as you would think. When you die, you don’t even lose your progress. If you die at a boss fight, you do have to clear the dungeon again but your xp and progress stays the same. It’s more like a slap on the wrist rather than a punch to the stomach.

    Overall the game is incredibly fun with beautiful artwork and fun dynamics. The game's soundtrack tends to get repetitive at times as the music seems to only consist of a few tracks. Beginner’s may soon discover that even though this game starts out easy, it doesn’t stay that way for long. It’s not too difficult but you have to keep your wits about you.

    Later in the game note: I am getting far in the game and it’s getting repetitive. It’s turning into a rinse and repeat situation. Apparently it’s better to slowly level up transformations to gain more stars for dungeon access. It took me an extra 3-4 hours just to level up my other forms just so I could access the Dragon Ruler’s Alcazar. IF I would have known that at the beginning of the game I would have saved myself several hours. That grind was the worst part of the game. The game itself, the characters and the land was a treat. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this game as much as I did but I thought it was a great action RPG game.

    A las 2 horas no he podido mas. Aburrido, repetitivo y lento. La mecanica de juego consiste en intercambiarse para hacer tareas, con personajes demasiado lentos y torpes. El sistema de apuntado es criminal, los dialogos no se pueden saltar y todo se resume en matar bichos torpemente para avanzar.

    Pero donde he dicho basta es con los mini-juegos. No me interesa repetir 100 veces un

    Nobody Saves the World blends recognisable aspects from disparate works to create a wholly unique experience. Its systems will challenge you and make you think, and it’s easy to stay engaged while juggling the number of forms and abilities available to the player, while accounting for the variety in world, dungeon, and quest design throughout the adventure. The game enthusiastically discards well-trodden concepts shortly after they’re introduced, and rewards you for doing the same.

    Do you think that 2022 is going to be a terrible year? Well, Nobody Saves the World comes to save it with tragic humor set in an apocalypse that's destroying humankind. Rescuing the world while being a spitting fire rat is fun. Its gameplay and puzzle-solving mechanics feel like the breath of fresh air that we all need.
