Loved it even more than the original. The ending especially is perfect and the whole thing Integrates seamlessly into the original, even explaining open questions from the base story. 11/10. I wish I could wipe it from my memory and play it again there are so so many holy **** moments throughout.

Just as the base game is one of the best games I've ever played, this is one of the best expansions I've ever played.

it does not feel like an integral part of the game that was kept out and you can play the base game without even knowing it exists and not feel like you're left out, yet somehow it finds a perfect place to fit into this supposedly whole and completed game and feels like

The expansion gives you more of the same, almost perfect gameplay of the base game while introducing new mechanics for puzzles, giving hints and telling the story. However, it does bring certain sections that are definitely not more of the same, playing more like a "traditional" horror game (traditional compared to the scary sections of the base game - looking at you, Dark Bramble) which feel like a very big departure from the base game's focus on "pure exploration" and I'll admit they can be frustrating at times, but there are only a few such sections and I ended up thinking of them as just another set of "puzzles" (except this time the riddles are not how to enter a locked room but how to evade or escape the scary stuff.)

The story being told is great and fits into the existing narrative perfectly, the visuals are some of the most stunning in the game and Andrew Prahlow's OST is as great as it has always been in the base game.

Overall I definitely recommend anyone who loved the original game to get a hold of this expansion.

Mobius managed to do it again. They nailed the base game and I was content with it. To be honest I was even a bit worried about this DLC ruining the game's legacy by not living up to the base game's standards. I am so glad to say I was wrong. Extremely wrong in fact. The expansion has some frustrating parts but just like the base game, has very satisfying and meaningful outcomes. HighlyMobius managed to do it again. I didn't think they could make an expansion that could meet the expectations of the first game. Not only do they surpass expectations but it complements the base game even better. While the stealth portions aren't perfect. Everything else is a masterpiece.

This DLC and The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine are the two greatest DLCs ever released. Just as good as the base game but adds a horror element. I've never been so scared in my adult life by a video game lol. Yet I couldn't stop playing it. If you like the base game don't miss this. If you truly can't afford it, pirate it. I'm sure the developers won't mind. If you can afford it though,This DLC and The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine are the two greatest DLCs ever released. For me, this took Outer Wilds from a top-10 game into a top-1 game. 1000% recommended.

Gotta give Mobius full props for developing an expansion that is just as compelling and mysterious as the base game for all the right reasons! 100% worth it.

Better than the original if such a thing is even possible.
Replayed the original before moving on to EotE.
If your brain after the base game is hit with an emotion hammer, your brain after EotE is hit with a 100 megaton bomb.
It's longer than the base game (or at least it felt bigger). It is also more complicated and atmospheric.
    Masterpiece. Perfection again.

Builds upon the world already established by the base game in a way that feels completely natural. Amazing DLC.

This DLC simply isn’t as good as the base game - unless you really like horror and really hate reading old texts in which case the reverse might be true. At any rate, this is a very good pretext for returning to one of the best games of the decade.

Mobius Digital has once again proven that they are masters of their craft. Echoes of the Eye carries on the legacy of Outer Wilds by delivering a riveting narrative told in a beautiful new world, paired with an excellent use of the main game's mechanics to deliver its story. While some parts of the DLC are frustrating in their implentation of horror elements, the option to make these parts easier, as well as the other parts of the game, make them worth going through.

That's what makes Echoes of the Eye unmissable if you couldn't get enough of Outer Wilds. It manages to push you in new, challenging directions with puzzles that scratch the same part of your brain that the original did while not relying on the same tricks. It's a feat that shows the depth of design prowess Mobius Digital first flexed in its debut title, but stumbles slightly when it tries to redefine its means of progression in the final third. These are the weakest moments in all Outer Wilds, but they aren't enough to sully what this fantastic expansion adds to an adventure that still stands as captivating and engrossing.
