Since we took our first steps in Avalanche Studios' post-apocalypse, we have had a hard time putting the control aside. The combination of an open world, mutant freaks and super powers is too entertaining, actually far above our expectations. Along with the eminent control and the dynamic battles, it makes Rage 2 one of the year's most addictive titles to date.

RAGE 2 is a frantic, mad and satisfying FPS, with tons of possibilities to play and kill enemies and with a very rich endgame.

It would be easy to break this game down to its constituent elements. You drive, shoot, and soak up loot, slowly growing strong enough to rip the head off of an evil empire. Each piece holds satisfaction and joy that belies its base description, however. Combat in Rage 2 feels smooth as glass, with every gunfight playing to a violent rhythm. Travelling throughout the world is fast and engaging, with every pit stop bringing new wonders of varying quality. Even the stock-standard open world components have been polished to a vibrant sheen. While it hasn’t reinvented the wheel, Rage 2 still manages to deliver on every promise with ease. Among sandbox shooters, this game shines, crackles, and sparks.

RAGE 2 delivers an absolutely stunning shooter experience, with nice weapons and powers to unlock, but it's also really short for an open world game, way too easy at medium difficulty and not so fun when it comes time to drive across the map.

Rage 2 could have been so much more. The gun action feels and looks awesome, but the world in which it all happens is just too flat and the story doesn't help either.

Rage 2 delivers incredible action at a ridiculous pace which makes it easily one of the best FPS experiences I've had in years. Sadly the rest of the game falls flat in comparison, with uninspired open world design, clunky driving and a shallow story that can be finished in just a couple of hours.

Rage 2's brilliant shooting fails to make up for its shortcomings everywhere else. Because even though there's fun to be had in the Wasteland, the shooting fails to keep me wanting more after not too many hours of gameplay. And when that happens, the lackluster story, the shallow characters and the repetitive mission systems all reveal what a bland experience this really is.

Amazing game. Runs perfectly on PC at 1440p ultra, more than stable 60fps with a Ryzen 5 1600x - GTX 1070 & 12 GB 3000Mhz RAM. Story seemsAmazing game. Runs perfectly on PC at 1440p ultra, more than stable 60fps with a Ryzen 5 1600x - GTX 1070 & 12 GB 3000Mhz RAM. Story seems interesting up to now Avalanche did put emphasis on that the story is not the main focus of this game. Loads to do in & around the world. Plenty of locations like strongholds etc to capture which are fun enough & from what I've seen unique in their own right. The same could be said even for 'raider' gas station locations. Not one filler objective is a copy & paste of the last which I have been really impressed with. Big improvement on the just cause series & you'd struggle to go more than a few 100m before discovering the next location. There are roaming traders & various other NPCs with small challenges all over the wasteland. Each city I've come across so far has It's own memorable personality, the team seem to have taken a lot of care in bringing these places to life & if you stop & appreciate the smaller details you'll see this for yourself. Haven't had to many issues in terms of glitches, few interaction icons taking a while to load in etc but nothing game breaking & major. The issues with Rage 2 from a technical standpoint seem to be more similar to the more polished PS2 era of gaming as apposed to the 'release it half finished' culture of modern times. Mechanics and game play are great, very doom-esque & extremely fun with depth to weapons & player abilities. close to 20 hours & I've hardly touched the story or world around me. If you're into open world first person shooters you'll more than likely enjoy this game! Don't normally pre-order & i'm not disappointed with my decision to pre-order Rage 2. If you're not an entitled 21st century cry baby you wont be disappointed.

My actual rating would be 8/9 out of 10 but I've maxed it out to help level it out

This game is the normal First Person Shooter just with an open world to massacre everybody on your way both on foot and with vehícles. For me is the best shooter and action game of 2019, it's repetitive as every action game is but this one differs in how outstanding the action is. Plenty of super powers, weapons and the best gunplay of the whole year.

The only wrong thing is it have no multiplayer...

The boring world and characters make it a forgettable game that should be sold for around 20 dollars. The price tag is way too high for what is offered. Developers, stop trying to make everything open world and if you do make it interesting to explore. Gamers are getting tired of developers artificially extending game length by making a big map with boring side quests. Doom showed how to make a fast paced action game. Expand

I was in high hopes for an amazing mad max like car combat and a big open world combined with doom like combat. Its dissapointing beacuse most of the game is repetetive and boring. Dont get me wrong combat is top notch but it get tedius since you spend 10 min clearing a bandits hideout and then drive for five minuts to then later do the sam thing as before. Story sucks d*** and car combat just blows. Dont pickup this game, there are so many great games out there that are worth your time instead of this piece of **** Bethesda left us. Expand

I miss when Devs would make the game they wanted, not what research and marketing think we want.Rage 2 has the dullest open world since Mafia 3I miss when Devs would make the game they wanted, not what research and marketing think we want.Rage 2 has the dullest open world since Mafia 3 and the main difference between Rage and Rage 2 is that it simply takes longer to drive to the core loop.I also miss the mini games from the first game. These, combined with races and MBTV at least made a corridor shooter a little more interesting. An open world game needs variety and a lot of weapons, tools and loot, none of which this game has.Sure it has some powers (If you call double jump a power,),but sadly they are mostly dull and the player has to work really hard to eek some fun out of this lifeless shooter.Characters and story are uninteresting and I coundn't have cared less who anyone was or what they said. That includes my own incredibly generic "Ranger" who is Joe or Jane Nobodycares. At least the shooting itself is expectedly solid.
