Mar 4, 2016You’ll be disappointed if you’re looking for deep mind-bending puzzles or deep, engaging dialogue. I, however, happen to be a big fan of the games that are content letting you move through them, soaking in their world without intensive or demanding “game-y” elements like combat or complicated puzzles.
-
Feb 29, 2016Wales Interactive clearly has great ideas, but Soul Axiom shows that the company needs to focus a little more on execution to make sure that they unlock their true potential for the public.
-
May 11, 2016It won't blow you away, but you should be entertained enough to appreciate the effort.
-
Feb 28, 2016Soul Axiom is a puzzle adventure set in an evocative cyberpunk universe. There are some good ideas here and there, but it also has some design flaws and storytelling problems.
-
Mar 7, 2016Despite an impressive variety in art direction and environments, Soul Axiom’s puzzle design is shallow and frustrating.
-
Mar 4, 2016Mechanically and in terms of storytelling this is an enhancement of Master Reboot – but a lot happened in the last two years. The combination of story and puzzles feels more organic in The Talos Principle while The Witness shows off the way better puzzles.
-
Feb 28, 2016Overall, Soul Axiom is a painful experience...I love the plot premise; the idea of a digital, man-made afterlife and how that affects society is a cool idea. I just wish Wales Interactive explored it in a bit more detail, instead of giving us the half-baked story, sparse and boring environments, and easy, repetitive puzzles that it did. It feels like an opportunity for something special that’s been completely wasted.
