Bossa Studios took the mayhem of the first game and enhanced it ten-fold. Surgeon Simulator 2 is a blast to play, and even better enjoyed with friends. The unique gameplay, combined with unforgettable co-op experiences and a wholly polished title, makes this game a worthwhile purchase.
Massive improvement on the originally great game. Multiplayer is a really fun addition, and the map editor is unexpected and gives hours of gameplay alone. Well worth getting!
Surgeon Simulator 2 is intended to be silly, irreverent fun that keeps you coming back for more and more surgical shenanigans, and in that regard it's a total success.
If something stupid and wacky is what your’e looking for, Surgeon Simulator 2 is your game! Don’t expect any real simulation gameplay, also don’t expect working controls, long-term motivation or complexity, and you’ll have a lot of fun.
Filled with the same style of ridiculous surgical antics as the original, Surgeon Simulator 2 does a remarkably good job of expanding it into an inventive puzzle game. The "simulator" genre's brand of obtuse controls and fussy physics objects starts to feel like a chore as you get a few levels in, but share the experience with some friends and there's a good time to be had.
Surgeon Simulator 2 is still as funny as its predecessor when you have to remove organs and saw arms, but the new puzzle game dynamics simply don't fit.
Unfortunately, Bossa Studios lost sight of what made the first Surgeon Simulator brilliant, transforming this direct sequel into a puzzle game ill-suited not only to the deliberately inaccurate control system, but also to the overall tone of the experience.
It's not the same as the old game, sure, but that's what makes it fun! Co-operative surgery with friends, level building and so much more makes this game more fun than the previous one with the same wacky physics that we all know and love.
I had tested the first one and it was so rigid and the 2 is not better and moreover very badly optimized, in short I uninstalled it ...

Much potential, sadly squandered. The premise of the game is great but the execution is less impressive. The solo game is fairly dreary and thankfully very short, but the multiplayer is where the potential goes to waste. It feels like the kind of game that would have suited couch co-op and as a PC online expert that fun from the chaos quickly turns into frustration as other players mess around, cause levels to fail or generally just tend to spoil the feeling of actual cooperation.
There is a level creator in the game too that I've played around with but honestly it feels like making more levels that basically all inherited the flaws of the main game is a somewhat silly idea. There have been one or two really good levels in the player made catalog, but the majority are pure garbage which highlights the games sad flaws. If UGC is your thing there are already much better tools and games out there.
As a final thought, I think the games matchmaking is either broken or the game isn't selling as I rarely seem to get matched with anyone. Though given the crap chute that is the multiplayer maybe this is for the best.
SummaryFrom 4-player co-op to the all-new Bossa Labs Creation Tool, get ready to explore an entire medical facility of wonder in this fully fleshed-out sequel.
