Tembo The Badass Elephant is really truthful to its name, thanks to a furious and exciting gameplay, perfectly tailored for all the fans of the platform genre. There's nothing really original here, but nonetheless Tembo is incredibly fun. Kudos to Game Freak.

Tembo the Badass Elephant succeeds as a game about momentum but fails to make the overall package as solid as it could be.

The imperative "farming" of levels and the frustratingly sensitive controls deprive Tembo The Badass Elephant from being declared as an instant-classic.

Tembo The Badass Elephant is a pretty fun side-scrolling platform game. The game mechanics are solid, but the level design by Game Freak is too simple.

The biggest flaw of this very enjoyable platformer is that it’s too short. [10/2015, p.71]

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. We love what Game Freak did with Pokemon, but Tembo The Badass Elephant is not so special. It is just a standard platform game without adding anything new to the genre. Very unfortunate, as the fun and crazy cartoon theme is badass.

One of the most ungainly platformers of recent years. [Sept 2015, p.123]

Overall Tembo feels like a classic platformer in a good way, it mixes elements from great games of the genre to make a very enjoyable and addictive one, if you love 2D platformers you need to give it a chance.
