Middle Earth isn't a strategy game for hardcore fans, but it's a well-thought-out, well-designed, well-animated entry. And the atmosphere, visuals and sounds from the movie trilogy definitely make that simplicity both welcome and worthwhile.
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth is an absolute masterpiece of a real-time strategy game. The attention to detail in recreating the epic battles and iconic characters from J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary fantasy world is nothing short of incredible. From the opening cinematic to the final battle, the game immerses you in Middle-Earth like no other.
The gameplay is both deep and accessible, with intuitive controls and a satisfying progression system that rewards strategy and skill. The ability to control legendary heroes like Gandalf, Aragorn, and Legolas in battle adds a level of excitement and strategy that few games can match.
The visuals are stunning, with detailed character models, beautifully rendered environments, and stunning special effects that bring the battles to life in ways that surpass even the films. The soundtrack is also top-notch, with memorable themes that will stay with you long after the game is over.
Overall, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth is an absolute must-play for any fan of the books or films, and any fan of real-time strategy games in general. It's a masterpiece that sets the bar for what a licensed game can and should be. 10/10, without a doubt.
Would be an impressive game even if it weren't based on Lord of the Rings. It's a clever and well-constructed strategy title with plenty of innovation of its own, and a genuinely great use of the franchise. Easily the best of the Lord of the Rings games to date.
The Lord of the Rings The Battle for Middle-Earth – это максимально грамотное сплетение красивой и пестрой картинки, всем известного бренда, классической истории с невероятной вселенной, а также радующей слух музыки.
I probably liked this game much more than I should have due to it being LOTR-themed. I found it fun and somewhat innovative, but also at times frustrating. Like all unit-cap control-the-nodes games, you'll spend a significant portion of your time on most levels scrambling to defend multiple spots at once while the AI uses its superior numbers and defenses to give you hell. With that said, it is fun to control some of the memorable battles from the movies and to even explore some of the regions hardly seen in the movies or books.
Yes, sure a deep strategic game haha. Maybe these guys are employed by EA or just children. The dumb gameplay is the biggest problem with BMFE, there are not many strategic choice, you cant build buildings freely, there is a unit cap, there are not many units, not many researches. Just the power tree is a bit interesting. Instead of being strategic this game is much more tactical and fast -.- It is like a game for teenies.
The Interface and controling is bad, because you need too many clicks to give the command. You should control the heroes with a shortcut I think, for example with F1-12.
If you know the movie, you know the story, so you can say, great I am playing the movie, but on the other side, there is no surprise. The design of the main missions are great, but the axillary missionsa are all the same and boring.
Technically the game is :/. The graphics is ok for a 2004 game, unfortunately the game doesnt provide AA and the engine cant handle more datas, so there are not many mods to improve the graphics. AI is stupid.
