Above all, the first four Settler games benefit from the purely technical changes. All seven have aged with dignity.
While overall this is a decent collection of the “logistics strategy” franchise with solidly modernized ports, the magic has diminished over the years.
It’s definitely a great opportunity to get acquainted with The Settlers, if you haven’t had the pleasure yet. TSHC’s main feature is the ability to run all games on Windows 10 effortlessly, but there are also some other improvements, including widescreen support and multiplayer via Uplay. The score I gave is rather low, because after all these years I did not enjoy all the included games and you can separately buy the ones you’re interested in. [01/2019, p.60]
In short, be interested in this collection only if you want to (re) travel the history of the brand in the best form available, without too much gambling with mods and game files.
The Settlers History Collection is a pure historical tribute, faithful to the past.
