Old meets new in Revenge of the Wounded Dragons, an engaging retro beat-'em-up that borrows a few ideas from platformers.
A quite decent beat 'em up adventure. Almost all basic enemies can be beaten easily by crouching, though. [Apr 2010]
A solid PSN title with good entertainment value. Don’t expect to be captivated for hours, though. Revenge of the Wounded Dragon is one of those titles that is fun unless too much time is spent playing it and then it becomes more tedious and repetitious than enjoyable. Taken in small doses, the game is entertaining.
Not a bad pickup to play through this holiday season with some friends or family, but it doesn't leave that lasting impression that makes you want to come back again and again like the classics of the genre (Final Fight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Metal Slug).
The addition of a second player certainly adds to the enjoyment, but this is far from an essential download. [Issue#191, p.93]
At $9.99, this game is extremely difficult to recommend. While there's a lot of game here with more than 20 levels and local co-op play, what's here just isn't that good. There are better brawlers current and past, and the cultural issues with this one just guarantee that if it's not forgotten entirely, it'll be in someone's Worst Of list.
If you’re looking to kill a few hours with a mate, then this would do the job; if you want any more than that, steer clear.
