If you loved Crysis once and want to revisit it, but in the best possible conditions, this is a golden opportunity. Possibly one of the best FPS that you will find on consoles if we are talking about games that marked a before and after in its original moment of launch.

Crysis Remastered has issues like texture pop-ins and getting stuck under jetties. However, its graphical overhaul makes it like a flower with thorns - prickly but beautiful.

Crysis Remastered is more of a capsule from a simpler time of the first-person shooting genre. Playing is undoubtedly fun because of the various things that players can do, with the inclusion of tight gunplay and engaging missions. However, I can’t help but wish for a complete remake because the age of this adventure holds it back from being anything more than a way for us to show our kids the terrible mechanics and AI that we used to put up with.

While many a fan of the franchise hopes Crysis 2 and 3 rereleases are also on the cards, this particular outing doesn’t inspire much confidence that those two games will receive the love and care they deserve.

The framerate drops regularly on classic consoles while the Pro versions never reach 60 fps, even in Performance mode.

If you never got the chance to experience the original when it came to PS3 and want to pick this up out of curiosity, it’s probably best to avoid it – it’s outright damaging to the legacy of Crysis. [Issue#181, p.88]

Saw this on the store Friday night, purchased and installed immediatly. The graphics are broken. When you turn the ray tracing on all you get is flickering landscape with giant red blocks all around, serious artifact issues. just about runs ok in HDR but thats not why you buy Crysis right?! As you can't mess about with a console as you can a PC either a game will run on a PS4 Pro or it wont - clearly this game cannot run on a PS4 Pro so was a waste of £25. Shame as was one of favourite FPS games of all time - I should have left it well alone. 'Speed' mapped to L3 is utter rubbish as well i might add, as the slightest deviation L or R and you stop so have to keep pressing multiple times to get where you aimed for also so all in all a pretty rubbish experience.
